Cloning from clones?

Hey guys, quick question I ve got a couple of clones that are doing really well and I was thinking that when they come of age , before they go into flower, that I could then snip some clones off of them?? Is this ok to do??? I would assume yes , but figured I d ask anyway!s

Take clones, do it anytime you have a branch that has available two nodes to go under soil... I've cloned clones as young as 17 days! Good Luck!

Yeah it is totally fine, alot of growers that run perpetual harvests do it that way. Veg the clones, take cuttings from them before putting them into flower and then when those root the cycle is repeated.

Only concern regarding clones from clones is timing, at least for me. I usually veg to a plant is 18-20 inches then toss them into the flower room. However, most vegging clones aren't ready to give up viable clones until they are 5-6 weeks old. By then they are larger than 18-20 inches. So, if I'm vegging a clone I want to use as a clone-mother I FIM her or top her at 2-3 weeks vegging. That way I keep the height down so they don't flower into the light while letting them get old enough to give up clones. That is why most of us have designated clone-mothers. I'll keep one gal vegging in a bigger pot for an extra 4 weeks or so while I cut clones from her every week. I may take 8-12 clones from the designated c-m in those extra weeks. Then she goes into flower like everyone else. Running a perpetual grow (harvest 2 plants a week) requires lots of experience and knowledge to time all the various plants' growth. When I harvest 2 plants I need to have 2 18-20 inchers ready to take their spot. That means I have 2 new spots in my veg room. You can see where this is going, can't you? Timing is everything in a perp. BigSteve.

Cloning....bigsteve says: 'timing' is very important ... I do not now, use a Mother clone... I just clone one of my clones going through my system... Taking a clone from an already 'of age' sexually clone -will give you an already sexually of age clone...my clones of clones have calyx hairs from the day they are born... Good Luck man... I have taken clones from a young mom only 17 days old from it being cloned... so really, I say start cloning soon...

PIC_13-09-19_09-14-07.jpgThis plant surprised me cause of what looks like two trunks that spread from the sides rather than the middle.......will this give me two main colas when flowering?

Probably. Definitely if you pinch out that middle. If you don't it may overtake the two branches and resume a more typical growth pattern.

taking clones of clones will eventually degenerate your genetics.
BULLSHIT, You have no idea of what you speak, you are just repeating shit you read somewhere. PLEASE explain how I have been cloning clones for 4 years, yet my yields and quality keep getting better? HMMMMMM?

Exactly, if each clone is just that: A PERFECT genetic replicant of the plant it was cloned from, there is no degradation of genetics.
You'd have more of that with a Filial cross, with a clone its as though it Budded (used in the context of a form of A-Sexual Reproduction) and the resulting plant(s) are simply tantamount to extensions of the first plant, growing independently.
Ergo, Clone= ... Well, a clone. The word couldn't be any more rudimentary in its definition.
I'd like to know the logic behind the assertion that cloing causes a decline in genetics.
Perhaps in growing out more of the same plant via clones you are able to encounter more of the inherent problems in the genetics of said plant you wouldn't have encountered on a single plant, 1 harvest grow basis... But those faults/phenos would be there already, cloning would have only given you the time to experience them all.

to explain. plants clones. its the same as a dog. they have puppies first litter healthy . second ok. 3 well mabe ok 4 notice able issues. so on. plants dooo lose there genetics. they may look healthy but. the thc and genetics do run away. soon the plant will be basically a wild weed . you need to plant a fresh seed from time to time.

I've read this before but in my experience have not seen this in my garden, I've been running the same clones for quite some time, actually getting bored and want something new but my yields are good and if anything the smoke is getting better...

like this, more B>S, your saying that the 4 or 5th kid is fucked up, Complete bullshit, a clone is a clone of a clone of a clone.

In biology, cloning is the process of producing similar populations of genetically identical individuals

I know people that have been cloning the same strains since 1996. No genetic drift, now if you clone a sick plant you may run into sick clones but healthy clones make healthy clones that make healthy clones that is just how it is. I don't know where you have been getting your information but how do you think breeders keep these strains alive to make new strains with???

UB is a douche bag, that explains why you come in here yelling, that's his style. Aint nobody got time for that. Maybe one day you will get your own style and realize being helpful is more rewarding than being an abrasive ass like uncle ben.
just gets me when these people pop in to spread false rumors. This is how as UB calls them "forum Paradigms" start.
