Now I could be wrong as I'm still learning some of the ins and outs of leds too. Tons of info good and bad out there and sometimes can be misleading. But what you discribed to me sounds more like what would be considered a multi chip led not a true cob. I'd stick to the a51 and onyx options over that one from what I can tell so far. Or build your own COB unit.

Hey Psuagro just liked my comment in that thread I posted those pics in. Its called Converting to led so you could just take a glimpse on here if you don't want to hassle with registration.

Subbed - look forward to your impressions in case I win the lottery or find out I'm getting a ton of money from a distant relatives inheritance! (Or bite the bullet and out it on some plastic...)
