Daisy Cloner

Ok I have gone through 5 batches of clones, I can grow a good crop but I seem to be a terrible cloner. Anyway, I just ordered an American Agritech Daisy Cloner, rootech rooting gel, Canna Rhizotonic and hydroguard. This is my last resort, if my DWC cloner doesn't work (and knowing my luck it wont) I'm gona be using this... actually I will be using this regardless because aeroponics is cooooool. Anyway, does anyone know what schedule I should run the pump at? The BGHydo website says "Operate the machine for 24 hour periods until roots appear (3 to 10 days)." Does this mean 24 hour on and 24 hours off? I have never tried aeroponics before. Thanks guys! Hopefully this will fix my issues, either that or I slam my head into a wall and move to Amsterdam, or just hallucinate from the concussion...

Mr I Can Do That For Half
That looks like the clone bucket I have in the closet. Its supposed to be 24 hours a day on.I run my aeroponic setup on 24 hours so should be the same.I just didnt understand the bucket as I need my clones in rockwool so they can go into my 3" net pot in my aero setup but that would defeat the bucket so I bought it for no reason so guess my unused bucket clone machine is going up for sale lol good luck

Wonder if the author of that manual speaks English as a first language.

I get endless amusement from 'Chinglish' and 'Japlish' - English written badly by speakers of those languages comes out really funny sometimes.

I shouldn't be too hard on the sods... Believe it or not, writing useful instructions is a distinct skill for a lot of people and is in great demand. Not many do it terribly well, though. :D

Yep, like FF says, leave it on constantly. I'm sure that's what the joker writing the manual was trying to say.

Put some hydrogen peroxide in the cloner water to prevent stem rot. Use 50% horticultural grade H2O2 @ 1ml/litre every 3-4 days. If you can only get pharmacy grade 3% H2O2, use 17ml/litre. For 6% H2O2 use 8ml/litre.

Hey, I wouldn't beat myself up if I was you- you're building skills, either way. One of the methods will best suit your op, for sure. :)

Can you clone in an Aerogarden? Just to get roots and then jump 'em to soil???

I have heard that the biggest mistake in cloning is getting them and/or the medium "too wet"... Wouldn't an aeroponic machine on 24 hours a day be "too wet"? If not, why not?

I've been growing for years and still can not clone for the life of me! I am thinking of buying an 18 site cloner that is listed on amazon.com but do not want to waste the money if I will only fail at cloning with that too!!!

build a cloner from stinkbuds thread:: how to harvest a pound every three weeks. cheap and effective aeroponics. He recommends running the misters for 1min on and 5min off which is what I also do.

If you are satisfied with 100% success, then go for the Daisy cloner. If you are, as I used to be, satisfied with the 50-70% success rate (after fighting death, practically begging for growth) of whatever "good" method you have, stick with the basics.
This daisy cloner is the greatest thing around for cloning - takes it out of luck for me. "Start it up, leave it running" It is amazing and you will be awed.
