My second Area 51 light panel arrived today:

It’s the RW-150 model, the one with 2 sets of LEDs, red and white. So I hung it up in my closet:

These 2 panels fit very nicely in my 2’x6’ closet. The old SGS-160 is now over the seedlings with only the white LEDs turned on. And the new RW-150 is above Teeny switched to full power, i.e., all of its LEDs are on.

  • I noticed that one of my Tahoe OG seeds is sprouting, so I’ll probably move that and the already-sprouted Liberty Haze into the second bucket tomorrow.
Teeny looks happy:

The light is focused into beams pointing down at the plants, kind of like a flashlight. That's why they don't look so bright from the side.
yeah others I've seen have looked brighter... thats why I thought it might have been the camera

Got a bag seed sprout going on inside that Rapid Rooter. If it's going jump out completely, which I think it will, it will probably be tonight or tomorrow morning.

Did you just set it in a tray of water like I did?
Soaked the seed for 24 hours. Then, just planted it in a Rapid Rooter that was in a small jelly jar with a few hydroton around to keep it propped up. Sprayed with a squirt bottle until I get some water starting do collect in the bottom (the plug is saturated) twice a day.

Edit: I DID soak the Rapid Rooter prior, but you probably assumed that anyway.

Oh... I hope that they don't have the same problem as those Rockwool cubes. You don't have to soak them for a long time, do you? I didn't worry about pH too much with the Rapid Rooters.

One out of the 3 seeds that I put in Rapid Rooters a few days ago is JUST about to pop out the top. Maybe by tomorrow it'll come out. If it does, then I'll put the 2 sprouts in the 2nd bucket.

Sold the Inda-Gro today for $470. Glad I'm done with that. It'll pay for the RW-150. There are so many things I'd like to buy, like a continuous pH & ppm monitor for each bucket and an RO filter. Maybe if I sell more stuff on eBay...

I noticed that the temp in my closet after replacing the Inda-Gro with the RW-150 is about the same as room temp, around 78° F today. With the Inda-Gro it would have been around 83°.

PLUS, I have the exhaust fan set on LOW instead of HIGH! Much appreciated noise reduction.
