Daylight Savings?

So I am about 4 weeks from harvest and this time change is not working very well for my 12/12. My time on is 8 am to 8 pm. Now it is 9:00-9:00

Is there anyway to slowly adjust the timer to get it back to my original time? Will it harm anything if I adjust the timer by 15 minutes a day to get the hour back?

Most things I read state that the 12/12 cycle is very important at this stage of the game and not to mess with it. But the 8-8 cycle worked perfect for my work schedule.

Anyone ever done this?

Why adjust the timer? The plant's don't care what time it is.... If it is essential to adjust it so that you are home when lights are on, just move the timer clock up an hour. the plants care about length of day, not the exact time of day..

Because if adjust the timer to turn off today at 8:00, the plant will lose an hour of light and gain an hour of darkness tonight.

I suppose not that big of a deal for one day. Not too worried about but I thought I would throw it against the wall here to make sure it is not a bad idea.

If you would have left it alone, the timer still turns on for 12 hours and off for 12 hours. No matter the time... Is the timer digital? and switch for daylight savings?

Yeah, a one time extra hour of dark isn't going to hurt anything.

I recently had a timer malfunction and the lights stayed on in my flowering room for about 2 hours longer than they should've. I caught it and quickly fixed the problem and have been on the lookout for problems. It's been almost 3 weeks and I've seen nothing but normal growth. I'm not saying that anybody who has 1 hiccup won't experience problems. I'm simply sharing my experiences, and I highly doubt that changing your timer will have much negative impact, if any. Best of luck my friend.:weed:

I think he wants the lights on to be on HIS schedule.;-)

does your timer automatically change the time on daylight savings? I don't think your timer keeps satellite time. Don't worry your light schedule will not change, as long as those lights are off for 12 hours and on for 12 your plants won't know the difference

Mine are programmable and will change to DST and back if I set them up that way. I don't just for this reason. I think he wants the "lights on" period to be more on HIS schedule though.:weed:

Don't touch it, don't think about, shhhhh!

If you already changed it your plants probably won't care. But don't let your OCD get the best of you and test that theory.

Don't touch it, don't think about it.

Damn...brother goes and smokes a bowl...comes back to a two page thread.

Sorry about the confusion. Yes, I need the plants on MY schedule. I work at night and like to know that my lights are off when I leave the house. The timer is still set to shut off at 8:00 and turn on at 8:00, but I never bumped up the current time it is set at up an hour with daylight savings. Hence why it is now on from 9:00-9:00 even though the timer still says 8:00-8:00.

No worries all, I bumped up the current time to be correct. They they will lose an hour of sunlight today, no biggie.

Looking good though...eh?
