Yep. But so will a crappy fluorescent. Doesnt mean its a good idea. How big is your space?

The below is a better option if you're going to keep on economy route, which I understand

Sorry for being short with the question,
I actually already have two of them lights I got them for free I veg in a 4x4x6 tent currently I have a 600 W MH but I would like to switch over to the LED because of electricity consumption I already have two 1000 W hps running in my 5x10x6.5 tent just wondering if I can use them for a couple of grows and any negative effects it might have. Thank you for your time and input it is much appreciated

Im with you now John. For veg, they seem fine, even assuming they perform half of what they claim (par rating). For zero dollars, I'd do it too. Could you improve on it? Sure, but if its working for you and growth rates are adequate, why change?

Flower is different. You're using 24kwh/day to flower with your hps, I pay about .15/kwh, which would cost me $3.60/day, $1314/yr. You could get the same output from a cob light for half the electrical usage. There is a variety of ways to go about it, but that amazon link will provide a small glimpse. You could splurge on high end cob light and pay for it in a year by lower electrical costs. Plus, your plants will explode. Its good you're checking out new tech

I got a deal of the day for us, not for a light though. a water chiller.

I bought an evercold 302 under cabinet unit for $64. new the thing is over $600.
Its hooked up right now, cant even hear it when it kicks on, its quieter than my fridge. it has a 1.75g cooling tank inside
i'll post a pic later
