Dehumidifier not enough on humid days

Anyone have experience with Dehumidifier not doing enough?
Im using probrezze 500ml (250ml/day)
My box is getting air directly from outside, so when it is 70-80% RH outside, its impossible to get it below 60% RH with Dehumidifier on. What can i do? Just buy another and have 2 running?

its running at speed 2/8 24/7, so i could change to speed 1/8 on humid days.

Box: 2x2, completely sealed
Exhaust: Ac infinity 4”
Intake: PC fan noctua
Light: SF1000
Pot: Smart pot 15L

Do you use anything to keep moisture in the soil? Obviously my RH increases after watering.

Hey Blomz -

If I were in your situation, I'd probably try to strike a balance by slowing down the intake / exhaust speed which should allow your mini dehumidifier to 'catch up' on those humid days.

I cover my pots with black/white panda film to prevent moisture from escaping - works great.

Good Luck!

What’s the RH of the room you’re intaking air from?

If the room is already high you’ll struggle with a small dehumidifier.

i use one that can extract 4L a day on full but I grow in a 3x3 footprint in a room that’s 7x3.3x8.
But I run a large exhaust.

Sounds like yours is a small box etc.

have you tried a few desiccant dehumidifiers along with your existing one?

There's no way a mini dehumidifier is going to be effective for ambient air. You say you're pulling air from outside. If your living space has conditioned air, pull from inside and exhaust to outside. The SF1000 doesn't generate a huge amount of heat so get a humidity/temperature sensor to control the fan and only run the exhaust fan when it's needed.

I Must admit I didn’t see that he said intake from outside.

Switching his intake to be from inside and exhaust outside would make much more sense.

well played sir.

You need a lung room, pull the intake air from that, exhaust outside or recirculate if you have AC. Use a dehumidifier / AC unit in the lung room as required to keep the numbers right in the grow space.

There needs to be a thread about lung rooms. I use my entire house as a lung and even that isnt enough to deal with all the humidity coming out of my little 5x5.

Exhaust the humidity outside.
Man when its 0 degrees outside or 100 degrees outside, the outside air that has to come in to vent it isnt even close to worth running the HVAC system at full tilt. Dehumidifier takes care of it no problem and keeps the house very comfortable.

Get a heat exchanger on the fresh air intake for your HVAC, believe it or not it should be bringing in fresh air whenever it runs.

Hey everyone. Its been a couple days since i have been online here.
I will be buying another dehumdifier Unit to make sure i won’t fuck up my harvest with mold. And im gonna set speed level at lowest.
Unfortunately i only have the option of getting fresh air directly from outside, since my house is a least 20meter away..

Thank y’all
