Didnt trim before hanging to dry, now what?

I got interrupted during my harvesting activities. I managed to get one girls cut & trimmed on the drying rack. The other one I just managed to get cut into major branches & hang up. I just got back to them & the ones on the rack are great & put into jars. The hanging ones are now all shrunk & almost dried enough to jar. But there's all the leaves.

What should I do? Pull off the large fan leaves (which are tiny now of course) which just makes sense but the smaller ones intertwined through the buds? If I mess with them too much will I not lose most a lot of the trichomes?

ITs all just person use so I guess I don't have to worry about customer telling me its leafy. Just wondered what it will do to the potency? I figure there is an additional say 10% leave matter in the buds now? Looking at the shrunken buds & leaves most of it looks frosty so I don't really want to lose that.

sigh... Just like real kids.. you really worry as a proud parent

anything with a stem,you should cut off and get rid of, the rest, just trim with a real good pair of scissors, you can shape the sweetleaf,then use the trimmings for keif,butter,hash.

Stupid Noob question I guess. Do you not smoke the leaves? I thought they were trimmed off just for looks & of course the large leaves don't have any trichomes on them so they go.

i have never trimmed leaves prior to drying. that bud u have hacked off the plant is still alive for couple of days and trimming all the leaves makes bud harsher and smaller, the leaves hang over the bud ,preserving it better during the dramatic(for the bud) drying process.Hang them up with leaves ,os fans blowing(plus air heater first 24 hrs ) and they will dry nicely in 5-6 days.Then manicure leaves to about an inch(otherwise you will start trimming buds getting too close!!).store in container.

you can smoke them, I think they take away from the taste of the bud though. I put them in the freezer, then use them to make butter.

You can smoke "sugar trim" but you will find it anticlimatic. I have saved sugar trim for hash oil in the past and got desperate between grows and smoked the trim. It got me through the night.....

Yeah I harvest and take fan leaves off immediately, then hang dry for a few days, then take sugar trim off and save it. No harm done in not trimming as you harvest, in fact I prefer it!

some smoke leaves if covered wit trichs i like to take leaves and the small airy buds and make bubble wit it

and if leaves are good and sugery id just like one said cut all fans and just trim bak the sugered leaves dont een have to be close to bud
will dry up nice

i wnt to pull a few fans one AM i had gotten baked first the plant was a week from harvest the next thig it looke like this i did not plan to this and it was my first time i picked buds clean by fingers yep no scissors scraped and hit the finger goo not a bad way to go
