I see a lot of these cheapy mechanical timers in shots of people's grow rooms. They are flimsy and clumsy. Time is marked off in half hour units and if the power goes out, the timer stalls.
For $20-$40 you can get a digital timer. Control the time down to the minute and it doesnt lose track during a power outage. Also nice is that they fit into a standard outlet with a slider/GFI cover plate. There's none of this plug into plug nonsense.
