Diyleduk Scope 240 led strip light Upgrade

I received a package from https://diyleduk.com a couple of days ago.
It contained 5 of his new V2 enhanced spectrum strips for me try out.
So a BIG thank you to @diyled ......
The consist of 120 Samsung LM301Bs, with 6 x Cree XPG3 660NM and 2 x Cree XPG3 730NM Diodes.
Well packaged, as expected.



They are an easy swap out for any other 2ft strip - 610mmx40mm
12 bolts to remove and 2 wires off old strip, remove old strip off the heatsink and replace with new strip, bolt on, 're insert your 2 wires into new strips, plug her in! Lol

Several mins later.....

Her back end .... wiring.

All's needed is to plug it in......

So, I have it in a new cheap as chips 4ft x 4ft x 6ft tent along side an HLG 550 V1.
I've 5 X RQS Royal Gorrilla plants waiting to go in there shortly to test the new strips with but here's what's in there now.
3x RQS Royal Gorrilla plants and a Moby Dick from Seedsman.
42 days of 12 on 12 off. Potting compost mix and vermiculite. Sprinkle of Epsom in the bottom of pots.
Tomatorite feed and sometimes a dash of cal mag.

The new enhanced spectrum strips are running at 200 watts. Max wattage 270
Hlg 550 V1 is running at 200 watts. Max wattage ~510
400 watts in the 4x4 is a tad light but the the plants get ~800 umols I'd guess and they have room at edges.
When I get the par meter back next week I'll take some readings

The Moby Dick is big so I hadda raise the Gorrillas up

Heatmat keeps the chill off them.
There's a fan above lights pushing heat down
Doing ok for lights out temps of ~ 14°C
Lights on temps of ~ 22°C.
I really must get some good insulation for the tent....


I'll update when I get the par meter back and new Gorrillas in there

No, diyleduks have 730NM as well as 660mm and they're double row strips.

Hmm... Personally I'd rather all the 730's be 630's or more 660's. Hell, maybe even 400-470's for a bit of blue. I don't see a point in far red being on all day long.

Also, you never state what CCT the Sammie's are. 3000K I'm guessing?

BTW, that blue anodization is Fucking slick. Where'd you pick those up at?

Very nice Mo, we all love side by sides, any chance we could see a match up in ppfd between this and some regular sammies, but using fotop style density and coverage. Sort of spectrum versus spreadout/diffuse lighting? Not worried about the watttage of each side really, more interested in comparison between red sup from strips (light hits the cannopy from angles) and tight fotop style lighting (light is like blanket hitting cannopy from all angles).

Growing with fotops weve seen some interesting stuff even w relatively low tech cchips

Using red, far red for the Emerson Lake and Palmer effect.
@diyled is eying up a pick n place machine with a view to making his own blue centric strips to fill in the blue spectrum.
Early days yet but they are in the pipeline.

I defo enjoy a bit of far red, but i like it as 90cri white. Some even say your better off with higher 630 than 660, at least if youre after weight and bulk.

Slight error on my part......I was mistaken on the Cree 660nm xpg3.
The 660nm chip is in fact the Samung LH351H Deep Red (660 nm)

Spectrum tweaking..... lol
I know the Gorrilla inside out by now so I'll notice any changes.
I'm hoping a bit more stretch on the Gorrillas, they're tight bushes.

@Moflow spectrum tweaking hehe. You could always put the gorilla girls under a hps then you can have all the stretch you could ask for lol..
