There seems to be a lot of new thinking on this issue, and I have to agree with it. I too was an amber type of guy. I was just always taught to look for about 20% amber. It turns out that amber resin is degraded THC. The more amber resin you see, the more potency that has been lost. However, the amber resin does effect the type of buzz, and if you love that burnt out couch lock type feeling, go for more amber resin. If you are looking for peak potency, it is a trick between getting the bud before trichs go all cloudy, but after the pistils start to dry and retract and the calyxes have swollen.i count from the day i put them in, some do it from when they start to see pistils appear on the plant, i keep mine in flower until the trichomes are 75% cloudy and 25% amber
Yeh ive heard about that there was a thread the other day, im still going to let it have a few amber in there maybe just look for like 5% amber nowThere seems to be a lot of new thinking on this issue, and I have to agree with it. thanks guys!Another consideration though is whether the plant has reached sexual maturity or not. If you stick a young plant from seed into flowering before it showed any pre-flowering, you might as well add about 7-10 days to their estimate at that point. As I stated, it is dependent on the grower, the environment and the phenos.
