Do we need a consensus?

I wish I could hide the political section. So much drama in there and it’s embarrassing to see “adults” act like children.
No Shit man. I didn't expect to see a section like that in a weed forum, until I accidentally found it. I was like WTF. I posted that I didn't really think this is the place for politics, and the haters came from everywhere.

Best advice for new growers, Stay out of the Politics section.

Yes there do needs to be concensus on some stuff like humidity temperature and such other basic science.

A thread all can read or just a thread with a link to any other non cannabis site that explains in simple terms.

At the moment the humidification industry is loving the confusion, 10% growth year on year since boveda was invented.

Boveda and Integra Boost are extremely small divisions when you compare them to their parent companies. Both of their parent companies make all their money from supplying the pharmaceutical and other major industries with desiccant packs and humidity regulating packs. Every home grower who uses their humidity regulating packs in their jars could stop using them and it would be like you dropping a dollar on your way into a store...they probably would barely notice. Boveda is also hugely popular for cigar storage. It’s not like they came up with the idea to trick home growers into using their packs to help extend the viability of their weed.

It’s a one sided echo chamber in there and those who frequent it aren’t willing to have a civil discussion. If you don’t agree with them on everything then you just have to be a far right fascist who loves everything the big bad orange man does...because you can’t have any issues with the left unless you support everything on the right. It’s just embarrassing to read.

Hello Guys,

I was wondering when I was just starting, I started to look for sources that provided me with complete noob guidance and all of the information online quickly became overwhelming and confusing. Even after that early phase, the constant disagreeing in forums and contradicting blog posts did not become much better.

Was it just me or do you think this is a general problem about the cannabis growing online world? Maybe because the plant is not "well studied" it allows this to happen?
Generally if there is not consensus, it means there is more than 1 way to do something, in that event you need to experiment for yourself and see what you like better or what gives you better results.

I actually think its a problem that people want an exact answer for everything and don’t want to apply any critical thinking for themselves.

but this form of extremism actually incorporates a lot of fascistoid qualities in the first place.

Hitler wrote about it in "Mein Kampf" that the extrem left is more to his cause than the democratic moderate middle which were "his true enemy".

Both extreme left & right consists of misanthropic ideologies presented by braindead sadists who spew forth lies to further divide mankind - its evil.

They also constantly *imply* (by using the term "racism") that there are different human races at large when, in fact, the Human "Millenium" Genome Project has proven beyond any reasonable doubt that the term "race" cannot be applied to humans at all, and this knowledge was already recognized & ratified by most states under the various Human Rights Chartas under article I "All humans are equal..."

The extreme left need the extreme right (and vice versa) so they can continue to shed blood, its INSANE!
(Just like the German secret service (BND) has supported a terroristic neo-nazi movement (NSU) with funds & weapons which in turn were then used to murder innocent people...)

First advice I got was at a grow store when I was researching getting into growing. The guy had two pieces of advice: 1) get a seed and throw it in a pot and grow it; 2) more power = more flower. I still read a book and then found growweedeasy.com and RIU but the grow shop guy was pretty close.

I think there should be a consensus on "new" users starting the same thread again and again like, "Why all the bad advice." About once a month. I get it, you're bored and you want to stir the shit, but seriously, read a book, get outside and enjoy the summer or whatever.

I couldn't agree more, and it really is sad that people can't see that they are being sucked into such a hateful way of thinking. I have a sister on the far right who buys into the QAnon bullshit, and another on the far left who buys into all their bullshit, and it can be embarrassing to watch and listen to them at family gatherings once they both get a little alcohol in them. I love them both dearly but they are both letting the media and the internet groups to consume their lives and pin them against their own family members who have a different way of thinking.

Totally agree! People are so on edge and eat up with it no matter what “side” they are on and it’s ruining lives and relationships. So many are just filled with so much hate.

The Internet, and social media sites in general, have been a bittersweet addition to society. While they have helped bring people together, and helped bring so much information to those who otherwise would have little access to it, they have also torn people apart and fed them full of a lot of false information. While I don't agree with what Ted Kaczynski did, and I do believe he had some major issues with controlling his anger, his take on how technology was going to do more than harm than good to society really rings true to me. There's a great documentary about him on Netflix that a lot of people should watch. Even the people who hunted him down said they agreed with a lot of how he felt about the subject but not how he chose to spread his message.

and this is their personal motive, formulate a self-styled justification in order to live out their anger.
(and digging further deeper one would uncover lots of sexual frustration and/or sexual or violent abuse in childhood etc)

These people are enthralled by primitive impulses which they neither understand nor can control. Like dogs that got beaten n misused at an early age - some of these get aggressive towards children for no apparent reason.

with some humans its even worse because of the massive loss of braincells from substances like coke, meth & other culprits.

"Evil" manifests itself first in the human brain, thats the starting point...

Some people may think weed forums are tough, try a motorcycle or firearms forum. Those guys can be darn right brutal.
I'm a member of a lot of firearms forums and, while they are obviously more far right oriented, even they aren't as tightly focused of an echo chamber as the politics section is here. While the throw out "libtard" pretty often, there are at least a lot of discussions from both sides and everything in between. One of the biggest firearms forums I'm a member of even has very civil discussions with members who are also members of left leaning firearms groups like "The Pink Pistols". Imaging that, huh?

Funny thing is, I consider myself a liberal democrat on most issues and have never voted Republican and I’m called a trumpard or something along those lines in the political forum here, I didn’t agree with them on some point and now they are convinced I’m a past user who pretends to be a liberal and trolls them. Paranoid lot there, finger sniffers

It doesn’t help that everything is so sensationalized and delivered in a way to divide and tug at emotions. And then it’s played over and over and over.
