Does nitrogen hinder bud development?

Way too many growers cut that N before stretch is done and then it yellows early, metabolism slows and buds don't quite finish. I've also seen heavy N in the second half of flower give bigger plants, but not necessarily higher yield and those plants were not as tasty, IMO.

My mistake. Dopey, me. I had chlorophyll in mind, good that you knew what I meant, though. I have little experience with indoor growing, so I visit this forum. Please forgive.

this is one of those times. a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

i only have the energy to respond to my quote....maybe you should put the whole sentance

the main issue with too much n is that it hinders the cure and can make for lower quality bud

lemme try and break this down, why you even quoted me idk..

"Well... Yellow/light harvest can be dried faster without getting hay, foolproof,"

yes we all know this is an aerobic process, take away some o2 and it will begin to ferment, we call this silage, its what happens when you bale hay improperly. just like curing weed. acids and ammonia are excreted giving the foul odor
but thats hardly foolproof, you still have crap. just not rotting crap

"but proper dried (includes cure)"

i never singled out the drying and curing process. but curing extends much longer

"green bud from a plant that has been kept healthy till harvest day results in better quality and quantity than anything else."

no. though you could play on semantics. notice i said too much n, obviously kept healthy is not toooooo much. but every sativa ive grown will not keep its leaves even if n toxed or healthy, they also like alot of water at the beginning of flower, i wonder if that correlates to the sept rain srason, hmm nature may have imparted a weird instinctual thing in my cannabis..anyway, in any case, because the ratios of chlorophyll and other components are skewed it will not be as good of bud. it will have more nitrates and compounds that are harsh on the lungs and throat, besides causing the plant to produce more congestive waxes (especially important for hash makers) the plant wont break down as much as it would have before the natural process wether enzymatic or through hydrolysis and respiration slow. this also hinders terpene development
