Dominion

The amount being sued for is ridiculous and even if a Jury were to award that insane amount to the Plaintiffs, any responsible Judge would reduce that amount significantly. The plaintiff hasn't suffered any substantial monetary damages. The services they provide will continue to be used.

This will likely be settled out of court for a tiny fraction of the initial lawsuit amount.

It's not as if Dominion was a company that made lunch meat and sold it to the public. And then someone went on television everyday saying that there was rat meat in the lunchmeat causing plummeting sales of their products.
Dominion Voting Systems is a Canadian company and the name makes more sense if you knew that Canada’s official name is “The Dominion of Canada”.

I honestly don’t know why the word dominion is troublesome and how a software company named “Dominion” could lend to conspiracy theories.
It's not troublesome for me but I don't believe in conspiracy theories. But to those that believe in some of the nonsense out there like QAnon followers it probably does. The definition of the word dominion fits right into their conspiracy about a cabal of Democratic pedophiles that trump was sent to expose and eradicate. It's pure nonsense but that doesn't mean that millions of dumb Americans don't believe it.

"Dominion:
the power or right of governing and controlling; sovereign authority.
rule; control; domination."

"In Genesis 1:26, God, after creating mankind, delegates authority to him to have dominion. This word, dominion, strongly means to rule or have power over. This is reinforced in Genesis 1:28 were God said that humanity was to subdue the earth."

I am not so sure. They have a pretty good point about the megaphone they were using to discredit their company. How can they promote and grow their business in other nations now? Even though it was all bullshit, their company might be sunk.

How much money were they hoping to make over say the next couple decades that now is in jepordy because of these troll's lies.

You posted that the name was somehow the “worse name ever” for a voting software company.

It’s not the responsibility of a software company from Canada to consider “millions of dumb Americans” when giving it’s company a name. The word dominion may be scary to a few dumb people but I don’t think the company’s marketing department was worried about that demographic anyway.

Dominion Voting Systems Inc. is a globally marketed software company, with a global clientele. At least that was the case before trump lost the election.

It may be a Canadian company but they have a headquarters in Denver. The crazies think Dominion is part of the plot they believe exists. And I do think it's a dumb name for a voting system company as the meaning gives these people something to add to their conspiracies. But what I think doesn't matter because I don't believe their systems were rigged and I don't care what company makes the voting systems. But millions of my fellow Americans are extremely dumb and find hidden meaning in something as simple as the name of a company.

"Take the complex network of conspiracies around Dominion Voting Systems. Going back to 2018, the QAnon message boards on 8chan have claimed the Toronto-based election company is tightly linked to George Soros and the Clinton Foundation, evidence of the company’s complicity in a satanic deep-state plot. On Nov. 2, on the eve of Election Day, a user posted to 8chan, reporting that they had just heard from a “well known intelligence analyst,” imploring them to look into Dominion. “They don’t have to win the election. They just need to create distrust in our elections,” the user wrote, supposedly quoting the unnamed intelligence analyst."

Maybe you didn't intend but there seems to be a bit of the "blame the victim" game in your post. As in "dumb name" and "they want too much".

Trump's propaganda has destroyed that business. The amounts named in the lawsuit are irrelevant. The lawsuit intends to take every penny that Giuliani, Fox News, OAN, and other co-conspirators have. Those bad actors took away the people's livelihood to promote a hoax. Seems fair that the perpetrators of that fraud should pay the losses rather than the people involved with that company.

Yeah I did some research and now see how much it has affected their business.

Company name: Dominion Voting Machines

What they do: create machines for voters to elect who holds Dominion over the State, senate, house and presidency.

It's a very appropriate name. If you weren't a blithering idiot you would know that.

You don't have to be a blithering idiot to realize that some morons would find other meaning in the name. QAnon people for example. Or religious fanatics that are trump supporters. In this day and age of ridiculous conspiracies companies need to think about how their name or logo's will be interpreted by some. Most people don't make anything of it but from a marketing standpoint it's not the best name and I'm sure Dominion will change their name in the future. Partly because of the negative rumors and partly to prevent them going forward.

There have been many companies that have changed their names or logos over the years because of unwarranted conspiracies. Proctor and Gamble changed their logo because a bunch of religious fanatics claimed it was satanic.

But you would have to be a blithering idiot to not realize they would find other meaning in any name you named it. If the company was called “The most awesomest and most error proof voting machines” there would still be a conspiracy about voting machines

Dominion will change their name in the future. Partly because of the negative rumors and partly to prevent them going forward.
How about they change it to “the company that went out of business because of lies told by the leader of the free world “?

The company letterhead would be a bitch but at least it will be dumbed down enough for the conspiracy theorists you’re worried about.

Is it just me, or does anybody else think that they choose the dumbest name ever? Like a bad Marvel comic book bad guy. Sure that's one way to put everybody's mind at ease, call yourself "Dominion." I swear, some asshole who owns it thought it was a cute name.
That's what I was referring to.

But kudos for going off on a conspiracy theory rant. That was hysterical.

I believe they are expecting to loose hundreds of millions. And it sounds like they aren't going to stop with Sydney Powell and Giuliani. :)

Funnier still is, she was the best witness they could find.

If I were up on phony murder charges and she was the only alibi, even then I wouldn't let her speak for me.
I thought the drug addict wife beating truck driver was very credible.

For days after the election, adherents to the QAnon conspiracy movement had been trying to get President Donald Trump’s attention with constant false claims about voter fraud connected to a company that makes voting machines.

On Thursday, they celebrated. Trump tweeted in all-caps about a conspiracy theory that baselessly alleges that Dominion Voting Systems, a company that makes voting machines, “deleted” millions of Trump votes, citing a report on the far-right cable news outlet One America News Network.

False conspiracy theories about Dominion Voting Systems had been floating around the fringes of the internet, especially the message board 4chan and QAnon-related Twitter accounts, in the days since Biden was announced as the projected winner of the 2020 election.

Many claims about voting fraud in the election, including about Dominion voting machines, have been perpetuated by QAnon adherents.[28] To many adherents of QAnon, Trump’s loss represents not a defeat of the movement but just one more front in their war with the “Cabal,” and the shocking January 2021 events at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. were driven at least partially by that belief.

Trumps new venture “Hugely best voting machine ever”.
