Trump was once paid by leaseholder in gold bars: book
Former President Trump was once paid with dozens of gold bars to cover the lease of a Manhattan parking garage he owned, according to a new book.

New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman’s forthcoming book, titled “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America,” includes an episode detailing the payment and other business practices, according to an excerpt shared with CNN.

The book, which comes out on Oct. 4, chronicles Trump’s life as a New York City businessman to his eventual rise to the presidency.
Trump’s businesses have come into the spotlight as they face legal scrutiny for their tax reporting and property value estimates.

New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) on Wednesday announced a $250 million civil fraud suit into the Trump family and the Trump Organization, claiming they misled investors and tax authorities. Multiple Trump family members have decried the investigation as being politically motivated.

Haberman’s book describes in detail the ascent of the Trump Organization, including an episode in which the leaseholder of the parking garage in Manhattan’s General Motors building sent Trump a box of dozens of gold bricks to cover the lease’s cash portion, according to CNN.

According to Haberman’s book, Trump told aides he didn’t know what to do with the gold bars and told his onetime security guard to wheel them up to his apartment in Trump Tower. It’s unclear what happened to the bars, according to CNN.

Trump called it “a fantasy question” when asked about the bricks’ fate, Haberman wrote, CNN reported.

In a previously reported excerpt from Haberman’s book, Trump told aides following the 2020 presidential election that he would remain in the White House after President Biden’s inauguration.

Trump reportedly appeared to recognize he had lost to Biden in the immediate aftermath of the election but soon changed course, according to her book.

Donald Trump shares Truth Social photo proclaiming him as second only to Jesus
Former President Donald Trump shared a post on his Truth Social account on Friday, declaring him as "second" only to Jesus.

The post by Truth Social user @austinnegrete said: "Jesus is the Greatest. President @realDonaldTrump is the second greatest."

It accompanied an image of a painting of Jesus by artist Dan Wilson.

Investors pull almost $140 million from the company planning to merge with Donald Trump's Truth Social
Investors are walking away from commitments to invest in a company that planned to merge with Donald Trump's Truth Social platform.

"Blank-check" company Digital World Acquisition said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Friday that some backers were pulling a total of $139 million they had planned to put into the $1 billion acquisition.

The investors who signed up for the deal about a year ago were able to back out if it was not completed by September 20.

The investors who walked away were not disclosed in the filings, but Reuters reported that Sabby Management, which planned to put in $100 million, is one of the investors that bowed out.

Sources told the news agency that more investors may also withdraw their commitment now that the deadline has passed and are awaiting more favorable terms to be put to them by Digital World.

The company has struggled to close the Truth Social merger and previously blamed the SEC for delaying the deal amid criminal and civil investigations.

The SEC started examining the deal in June over the possibility that Trump Media and Digital World had held discussions before the special purpose acquisition company (Spac) went public last year without informing the watchdog.

As a result, the directors of Digital World received subpoenas in June from a grand jury in the Southern District of New York.

Digital World has faced difficulty in getting 65% shareholder approval for the merger and could be forced to liquidate and return investors' cash if the deal is not completed.

Sabby Management and Trump Media and Technology Group did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

While I think the book of Revelation has to do with bipolar ideation, it did warn about just the sort of behavior that man is showing us here.

why do republicans always depict jesus as a white guy?
Revelation 1:14-15 offers a clue that Jesus's skin was a darker hue and that his hair was woolly in texture. The hairs of his head, it says, "were white as white wool, white as snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined as in a furnace. y0383-burnished-bronze-download.jpg this is burnished bronze...his feet were like burnished bronze...so apparently there is a color gradient to christ? his feet were middle eastern, but the closer you got to his face, the more caucasian he became? he apparently does work in mysterious ways, because it's a total mystery to me how people can belive their own horseshit...like that trump is anything but a low life grifting, traitorous piece of shit

Modern color misassignment. That is pickled or air-oxidized bronze. Burnishing is a polishing process. This is actual burnished bronze and likely closer to the text’s intent.

These are burnishers. They are made of mirror-bright hard steel and leave a shiny oxide-free surface.

so … coulda looked like this modern Palestinian. There are darker Italians.

i'm not sure he could have looked like that modern Palestinian...racial lines were not as intermingled 2000 years ago, and the local indigenous population would have been fairly dark complected just due to the weather.
which is assumptions on my part...let me know if you're interested enough for me to spend the time trying to find out, i feel kind of lazy today

A follow-up:

Trump's SPAC changed its address from a WeWork office costing $15,000 per month to a UPS mail box costing $50 per month. Their address is listed as between an Italian restaurant and a nail salon. lulz.

The Special Purpose Acquisition Company, DWAC, was set to deliver more than a billion dollars in profits to Trump and his initial investors. The SEC is investigating allegations that DWAC's executives held talks with Truth Social's parent company before the blank check company went public. The alleged meeting would be in violation of regulations that disallow SPACs from establishing deals and merger agreements before even going public. The SEC is withholding approval of the merger until the investigations are complete and they find in favor of DWAC.

Trump SPAC Digital World changes address to a PO box at a UPS store

Trump SPAC Digital World Acquisition (NASDAQ:DWAC), which is taking Trump's social media company and platform Truth Social public, has changed its listed address to a post office box at a UPS store in Coconut Grove, Florida.

The new address was listed in some of DWAC's most recent regulatory filings. The address, 3109 Grand Ave., #450, Miami, FL 33133, is listed between an Italian restaurant and a nail salon, according to a Google image search. A person who answered the phone at the UPS store declined to say if #450 was a PO box office at the store.

The address change comes as DWAC late Friday disclosed that it has received termination notices from PIPE investors representing $138.5 million of the $1 billion PIPE investment disclosed in December. The investors gave the notices between Monday and Friday, according to an 8-K filing.

Trump sues CNN for defamation
Former President Trump has sued CNN in federal court in Florida for defamation.

In the lawsuit filed Monday, Trump’s attorneys claim CNN “has sought to use its massive influence — purportedly as a ‘trusted’ news source — to defame the Plaintiff in the minds of its viewers and readers for the purpose of defeating him politically, culminating in CNN claiming credit for ‘[getting] Trump out’ in the 2020 presidential election.”

The former president is seeking $475 million in punitive damages, according to the lawsuit.

Trump announced his intent to sue the network earlier this summer, saying in a statement he would “also be commencing actions against other media outlets who have defamed me and defrauded the public regarding the overwhelming evidence of fraud throughout the 2020 Election.”

The former president’s attorneys allege in the filing that CNN “has undertaken a smear campaign to malign the Plaintiff with a barrage of negative associations and innuendos, broadcasting commentary that he is like a cult leader, a Russian lackey, a dog whistler to white supremacists, and a racist.”

It also cited anchors, personalities and pundits on CNN using the term “Big Lie” to refer to Trump’s repeated false statements about the 2020 election and voter fraud as evidence of the outlet attempting to associate him with Adolf Hitler.

In order to prove defamation, public officials and other public figures must prove journalists acted with actual malice or reckless disregard for the truth in their reporting, a high legal bar to clear given First Amendment protections granted to the free press under the Constitution. The New York Times, for example, has not lost a defamation case in more than 50 years.

CNN is a frequent foil of Trump, his followers and allies, as well as conservatives more generally.

In 2020, the network settled a $275 million lawsuit brought by a high school student in Kentucky who was at the center of a viral video controversy and became a lightning rod for critics of the mainstream media.

Trump’s campaign also sued the New York Times in 2019 over an op-ed suggesting a “quid pro quo” with Russian officials.

The latest lawsuit from the former president comes amid big changes at CNN, which was recently sold to media conglomerate Discovery.

CNN’s new president, Chris Licht, has made several changes to the network’s programming and personnel, scrapping its Sunday show focused on media affairs and telling staff at the network he would like to see a renewed commitment to journalism over punditry and speculation.

Licht reportedly told network anchors in a meeting earlier this year that they should rein in the use of the phrase “the big lie” when referring to Trump’s election claims, worrying it was too partisan.

At some point, it just became sad...Whether he's actually that obsessed with the 2020 election, or just that committed to the lie...It's just pathetic now, a fat, old, shitty asshole, who can only find enjoyment in the belittlement of others.

Most mainstream media outlets have become "too partisan" these days. They can't just deliver information anymore without half of the "news" being heavily steeped in opinion. In fact they will refrain from delivering certain information for fear that it "could be misconstrued".

He sure has wasted a lot of the courts time over the years, but this time he's fucked, but still can't get his head around it. Garland will indict him in DC after the election and the ruckus from it dies down and they are done standing over the shoulders of certain people counting the votes in some places. All this shit just adds to the pile of evidence, gets possible appeals out of the way, burns up one of his ace in the hole judges and exposed the whole sordid affair during the election including that priceless photo of the secret documents. Trump made it all public and is ranting about it and the 2020 election on the stump at his increasingly insane rallies.

Lately he's been going after Mitch a month before election day and leading the magats off a cliff over Ukraine. The J6 hearings will soon freak Donald out more and hang him around the republican's neck All in the final month of the election, with the Ukrainians rolling the Russian army up and kicking the shit out of them while Vlad panics and starts fingering the nuclear button. Then there are the women and abortion, or family planning rights and they could be the biggest wild card of all.

WTF knows what will happen in November, but it's adding up to be a perfect storm for the GOP and the Russians at about the same time!

Trump threatens further legal action against news media, Jan. 6 panel
Former President Trump on Monday threatened legal action against various news media outlets and the House select committee investigating the Jan 6., 2021, attack on the Capitol on the same day his legal team filed a lawsuit against CNN.

Trump did not specify what other media outlets he plans to sue but said he would file lawsuits against them for their “disinformation” about the 2020 election, which he lost to President Biden.

“In the coming weeks and months we will also be filing lawsuits against a large number of other Fake News Media Companies for their lies, defamation, and wrongdoing, including as it pertains to ‘The Big Lie,’ that they used so often in reference to their disinformation attack on Presidential Election of 2020,” Trump wrote in his statement.

The former president said he would target the Jan 6. committee for not investigating his claims of election fraud, which were at the center of dozens of lawsuits by Trump in courts across the U.S., all of which were dropped or dismissed, some by judges he appointed.

“The Unselect Committee has refused to acknowledge, as was done by the Biden Inspector General at the Department of Defense, and others, that days ahead of January 6th, I recommended and authorized thousands of troops to be deployed to ensure that there was peace, safety, and security at the Capitol and throughout the Country,” Trump added.

Biden had not yet been sworn in as president in the days leading up to Jan. 6. There is also no evidence that Trump ordered any extra security at the Capitol in anticipation of violence there on that day.

In the lawsuit filed against CNN on Monday, Trump’s attorneys claimed the network “has sought to use its massive influence — purportedly as a ‘trusted’ news source — to defame the Plaintiff in the minds of its viewers and readers for the purpose of defeating him politically, culminating in CNN claiming credit for ‘[getting] Trump out’ in the 2020 presidential election.”
