To wire that thing, just get a cheap extension cord, or some old lamp that doesn't work... cut the plug and strip a little bit of wire, and attach. It shouldn't matter which one goes to which. It could be that wiring it one way makes the fan spin one way and the other, the other... but usually not (in my experience). To be exact... the white should be the positive, the black the negative or neutral. The little prong on the plug/ outlet is the positive (charged) one, and the big prong is the neutral, so you can line it up like that.

Plants are looking great!
Thank you so much Jig! I had tried to look it up but hadn't found a simple response, so thank you tons! Have read some of those grow books where it talks about people getting busted because they set their houses on fire with crazy light systems... so I am paranoid about overloading my circuits, or wiring something wrong. I'm sure you have to be pulling a lot of watts/amps/juice/gigawatts to pose that danger, but better safe then sorry!

Thanks again man, and thanks for saying my plants are looking good. Last night was the first time I have seen some actual crystal development and I had kinda been like: what are you guys DOING in there?! So I'm encouraged!

Quick victory shot of the stuff I grew from bagseed. Put this little lady in my buddys room when i went away for x-mas and never got her back, until now! Vegged her in my little stealth cab under a lot of CFLs and then flowered her in my buddys room... 16 grams! Will keep me in smoke for a while, and its proof that I can actually grow something! Woot!!! In a couple months I hope to have lots of jars like these....

Silver: checking them today, I'm amazed at the growth in 24 hours. Yesterday, one baby bud had crystals. Today, all of them do! I'm so proud, my little plants are growing up so fast!

Some pics of the new H P S !

Some bud shots.. amazed at the growth in 3 days...

Tried to get a shot of the crystals on the leaves... There are lots already!

Upskirt!

New thermometer.. gonna see how hot it is up there in a bit. Had to reroute the intake so that we could turn the light perpendicular to the tent, and raise it about 4" Plant canopy is still too hot... Put a 6" fan in there in addition to the Vornado to hopefully help... Have the intake fan pulling in cold winter air in at full blast so we'll see the temp in a bit! One of the poor little buds had allready got scorched from the heat of the HPS... I didn't put a pic up here of that tho because I want you guys to think I'm perfect ;) Far from it... but I want to learn and get more efficient every day! Gonna see if I can put the ufo in there tomorrow, and hopefully get a filter hooked up.

Peace out hope y'all're (thats right, double apostraphe!) having a great night!

Also... what is the desired humidity level? Mine is very low and I think I need to bump it up. Is the only way to do that with a humidifier? Thanks!!

Nice double apostrophe. And I'm the same way with pics, I only take pictures of the good stuff, lol. Why immortalize a mistake right? Things are looking great in there.

EDIT: Here's a pic to answer the humidity level question. You want to be in the green. However, I am always around 10-20% during lights on, and around 35% with lights off and I still get alright results.

So hot in the tent... i don't know what to do. My thermometer in there said 109 earlier... I don't think it can be right. The plants aren't showing any signs of heat stress except one bud that was close to the light the first day it was in there and it got a little scorched.

Kinda thinkin about going back to the LED...

Is the thermometer in direct light? That will heat it up, you need to shade it. If it really was that hot the plants would show it in an hour, so it has to be something not making the reading right.

It definitely isn't right, with my hand directly under the bulb it feels like 85-90, which is hot, but not that hot. Shade it you say? Will do :) Next thermometer will have one of those awesome probes!

Interesting, so I clipped the thermometer to the main stalk of the DM right underneath the canopy and its reading 77. This is close to the air intake so i can see why its so low. If its reading between 100-109 in the direct light right above the buds and 77 right below the canopy it should average high 80s - 90 degrees.. which is the high end of the safe growing temperatures as I understand it.

Better than 109! Thanks Jig for the Protip.

the real way to check the temp is using an infared thermometer and you test the leaf surface, at least that is what I saw jorge cervantes do...

Mad drama bro. Hackers jacked up the site and the last backup was done on feb 20. How are your plants doing?

Oh dang! Hackin a site as chill as this? Pretty low! They are doing great. Took some pics with my gfs actual camera, I'll get them up soon! Smells amazing too.

Okay here are some pics from 2 days ago with the good camera... slightly higher resolution pics.

I think they're looking good and they smell AMAZING. Like it kinda makes me wrinkle my nose.

Jeez louise. They look so damn frosty. You must be real happy with your work. Ain't it a beautiful thing to grow such beautiful plants? I love it.

plants are looking groovy ron. I doubt it was a deliberate hack attempt. I would guess it was an automated robot script that just goes from site to site looking for vulnerable sites. This particular vulnerability has literally been known about for YEARS so I'm not sure why the site here is still vulnerable...

I got my new veg LED ron and I'm LOVIN' it. I already want one more for veg and now dieing to get some into flowering... i do figure with the size of the blackstars I could probably get two in there on each side of the HID at an angle -- they wouldn't get much light onto the center though... i may just wait on flower until I can afford to buy a kick ass light and go all LED. Unfortunately for the wattage I want I need at least a minimum of $1-1.5k for a light, because I'm not settling for less than 400-600 usable (not listed) watts. you given any thought to going all led?
