Drying methods - harvesting today

Hi all,

I`m going to harvest today (finally!!!) and I will not be home for the next 4 days but
no worries my girl gonna watch it dry =]] My question is which way do you recommend
for drying? I`m familiar with 2 ways :

1. Chop the fan leaves and hang the stem up side down
2. Try to clean the buds almost like the final product and use the hanging laundry net

i`ll be happy to hear whats the different between the 2 options and what
do you prefer.

Thank =]

when I used to hang dry, I would remove all the fans and large leaves w/o any sugar on them. then hang dry in 75* +/- and 50% r/h. this should by you 4-6 days with out any needed attention. if you want to have a few more days of dry time until you get back, then leave the larger leaves (non sugar) on the branches. also if you take individual branches vs a cluster of branches still together, that will also lengthen your dry time. ands make sure you have some air movement as well. stale non moving air increases chance of mold.

I now dry in nets due to space constraints.

i'm in a dry area. very low humidity most of the year. i've dried them a few different ways, and these days i hang the whole plant and dry. i harvested yesterday and will trim off the fan leaves over the next day or 2. i've left the fan leaves on, i've trimmed them off, i don't see any difference in the final product.

the humidity in the tent is around 45% (i can get it up to 50 or more but i'm fine with 45%) and it will take them 5 to 7 days until ready for trimming and paper bag or ball jar. i keep them in the grow tent with a little air movement to keep the humidity level up. i still have some nicely cured buds from last time and i'm set for a few months. it's dry ice kief and canna capsule making time. :)

to speed up the dry, i used to take the buds off the stems and laid them out for 3 or 4 days. turning them a couple times a day. i wanted to slow down the dry, so now i leave them on the plant until they are ready for trimming and jarring.

good luck. don't over think it.

if any of that is rambling, i blame it on my vape.
