DUAL ARC Vs DUAL SPEC.. Which is better ???

Hi I am still trying to determine whats better for Flowering, a DUAL ARC lamp or a DUAL SPEC lamp..

The Dual Arc has an HPS and MH in the one lamp, and the Dual spec has just the HPS part, but has a higher (than hps) spectrum with more blues in it..

In theory they should be about the same, although I am leaning towards the Dual Arc.

I am interested to hear whats people favourite, why and the advantages/disadvantages of the 2 types of lamps

Also are Dual Arcs available in 250w, 400w, as well as just 600w and 1000w ???

I know this link has been put up in other threads but i had a difficult time finding it. http://advancedtechlighting.com/cmhfact3.htm Watch the first video and you should get a pretty good understanding of the differences. It will all still boil down to personal preference in the end. It might seem a little dry but he gives you a pretty good explanation of the differences and why exactly a CMH will appear brighter then an HPS as well. Have a look and i hope it works out for ya.

Hortilux good brand. I have grown Bud under PURE MH, I saw no major Diff.. maybe an OZ less in yield.. but it was frosty as fk... and bomb. so Now I use 2x 600w.. . one with a MH and one with HID right next to one another and I flip the plants every few days... I will never use 2x HID bulbs.. I enjoy 1 MH and 1 HPS too much

I found something interesting out today !! the Eye Hortilux 430w + all other Hortilux bulbs are intended for use with Old Skool Magnetic Ballasts only !!.. as they operate on a different frequency. The Digilux bulbs above are what I am happy to settle with for now...a little expensive at just over £90.00/$145.00 (inc postage) !!! but they are designed for use with only Digital Ballasts that operate on a different freq. to Magnetic's.. and will not work on Magnetic Ballasts, ONLY on Digital Ballasts !!

It was harsh having to front that kinda cash for just one light-bulb, so I hope its as good as what people have been saying - STELTHY :leaf:
