If you were to sub great white (as i already own it) with any of the three in this tea. which would you recommend?i just recently lost a plant to root rot (that went unseen) now im trying to recover from a brown slime that builds up on the bottom of my setup and the brown spots on the roots (using dyna-gro)

You could substitute the ZHO/Sub-M for the Great White, as the GW contains mycorrhizae and trichoderma.

Cheers!

Heisenberg..quick questions (hope you don't mind) my plants seem to be recovering nicely and the PH is stabilizing, but I am finding a clear goo on my air stones probably in the bottom of my buckets too, is that from the "Tea"? Microbial mass or matte perhaps? Do you experience this also? And is it ok to leave it as is or should I do a partial water change? How long should I wait before adding nutes again? It has been only 2 days so far. Thanks for letting me use your experience to help my Ladies get better.

Hi Riven,

Sounds like you are en route to a safe recovery. The clear goo is typically a biofilm created by the beneficials in the tea. It will be fine in there until the next normal rez change. You should be able to add nutes back in now. Add a little more tea in like 2 days or so to freshen up the bennies. Everything should be fine as long as you dont smell anything nasty.

Cheers mate, hope this helps.

IMG_20110719_181018.jpgIMG_20110719_180924.jpg This is my remaining plant the others died from disease as you can see its barely holding in there and lost all its lower leaves

Now that i have had time to read the whole thread i purchased just Ancient forest online. Then i will use my great white. i have already begun to notice new root growth after running some bleach into the solution to clear the mix

Next i got a bubble curtain and a new air pump for my bene bucket. im going to start an initial inoculation with just great white and follow up the a new batch as soon as the ancient forest arrives

i found that a family friend had the molasses in there pantry. so that was free

i was wondering how much the bene's would help cloning. ive got dirt cubes and rockwool

Just a quick update on my girls.....all three are growing bright clean white new roots! 2 have really done well the third was hardest hit with the slime and it is showing signs of coming back so I cleaned her rez and gave her another treament of bennies yesterday hopefully she make a full recovery. I really want to keep her genetics as she produced really big buds on mighty thick branches. She is actually a reveg from a already harvested grow and is growing back quite well. If she can pull through another couple weeks untill I can take clones from her then that would be good. I already took eight clones from old bud sites but have already lost three to mold. One of them is showing signs of roots though so maybe some of the remainder will pull though. But it is all thanks to this thread and the brew that helped them through!

This is the third time I brew the tea. However, I do not have nearly the same frothing/foaming as I had my first two times in the bucket. Before I had like 1.5-2" of white/tan foam, now I just have bubbles from the bubbler.

The bucket may have had some bleach residue, although I rinsed it quite well. The only other difference is that my night time temps are now 21*C, whereas before they were 24*C. Is this tea no good or not AS good? Should I still add it to rez or discard?

Also, my brewing bucket is not light proof. Does it need to be?

Hi medicine21,

I noticed similar findings as you. The first time I brewed the tea, it foamed up quite a bit. Every subsequent brew, just a small collection of bubbles and debris on the top. I will note that my first brew I used the sock method, but on my subsequent brews, I just toss the ancient forest in there and drain it through a filter bag when it is ready. It still smells normal and does it's job, so I don't let the absence of foam bother me. Depending on the ingredients you use, you may not get any foaming at all. As for being light proof, thats just fine. No worries there.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Cool, thanks bond. It is a bit weird that there's no foaming this time. Anyway... into the rez it goes!

BTW, I don't know where you guys get GO Ancient Forest. My shop told me that the GH/GO rep claims it is not available in America, let alone Canada.

LOL... They sell it at every hydro store in my area. I've also seen it at a local nursery. Good luck!

I'm in Canada, can't find it... I assumed "the not available in North America" was untrue since no one on this thread seems to have trouble finding it...

I believe it's farmed in Alaska so it would be kinda funny if it wasn't available in North America... or Canada, since that's even closer to the state than the continental US. LOL! Nice job, import regulations. You should try ordering from Amazon Marketplace... see if you can get away with it.

Cheers med,

http://www.hydroponics.net/i/134984

Just picked up a bag within 2 days 20$ shipped to my house. it should ONLY be available in north america due to being farmed in Alaska

Threw a batch in my bucket today with the great white that was already brewing and it developed a nice thick foam if i put the lid on but without it grew very little foam

ps works GREAT when added to transplanted plants (soil)
