Early Harvest, Improper drying = Mold! Need advice

Hey RIU,

I wrote about 3 weeks ago how I had to chop early due to a water leak in a pipe that slightly flooded the room where the tent was. They were all harvested at day 51. Because I live in a condo I had to chop everything and my friend went ahead and dried in his house. Unfortunate the conditions were less than ideal and all my bud (about a pound) were dried but ended up with a dark consistency and about 75-85% have signs of white mold spots.

I'd like to try and save what I can and not through out these huge nugs!! I know you guys have way more experience than me, and probably have some tips on what to do. I was thinking if I can't smoke the buds, I can try and make hash or wax? Or is there a way to save the buds?

all the big time growers with hella weed to spare will tell you to just throw it out, but this happened to about 4 ounces of bud from my last grow and i water cured it. dunno bout you but i couldnt afford to throw away that much bud or turn it into budder with as much as i smoke. after water curing and drying it was fine. no mold smell or taste, and i waited a few days after drying and couldnt see any mold inside buds or out so i smoked it

I'd be worried about pneumonia smoking mold. It can be very lethal if you are exposed to the wrong conditions, fuck that tell your friend to get some extraction going on next time he dries, use a dehumidifer if need be.

Smoking mold is fine it tastes nasty but no joke I've smoked lbs of moldy brick weed just had to go in a blunt... if it really bothers you or there is a lot the only thing you can do is turn into hash oil and pull it through a micron syringe that will pull bacteria and spores everything out. Though depending on the mold there may be some poisons.....again I've smoke lots of mold it won't hurt you..lol I know this seems like something an idiot/newb/troll wouldsay but trust me. Unless its gnarly in there full on webs and shit you'll be OK....unless by chance your immunodeficient

Rome was not built in a day. Sit down get a tweezers and pick every white spot of mold off the bud. If you really care that much about saving your weed have some patience and you will be rewarded.

Instead how bout harvesting on a set schedule and dry approapriatly and that should help reduce his chances of mold

Maybe when I wrote this, I wasn't clear. I had to early harvest due to flooding in the room unrelated to the grow tent. We 100% didn't choose to harvest early and have it in shitty drying conditions. It was an emergency tear down and thats that. I was purely asking for advice if there was any way to salvage the buds with mold, which ended up being close to 6 ounces. I salvaged the rest out of the total net weight of a pound.
