I have read that Northern Lights is good for beginners, but from experience it is not. What fast growing sativa strains would you recommend?
Sativas are honestly not that easy to grow. A lot of growers have trouble keeping plants healthy for the normal 60 day flowering period, just imagine how crappy a plant would look after 90 days. If you're looking for a 'sativa' effect but don't want to deal with a 12 week flowering period, checkout AK47 from Serious Seeds. My pheno finishes between 60-65 days and yields a potently energetic high that doesn't weigh you down. Cindy 99 is another one that comes to mind as well and I know there are plenty of other sativa dominant hybrids out there.
Trainwreck is a mostly sativa dominate strain. With a decent flowering time and height.I have never grown but i have seeds.Another is Cindy 99.What you need to look out for with sativas is the HEIGHT and flowering time.
Trainwreck, while being a good smoke when it finishes correctly is a total pain in the ass to clone and the veg time is tremendous (upwards of 12 - 14 weeks). I have serveral strains and after growing in several different setups I have kicked it to the curb.
AK-47 or 48 are good sativa hybrids that grow great in my rooms. But there aren't any pure sativas I would recommend to a new grower.
Why is Trainwreck so hard to clone is their a long period for cloning? Also on the veg time how tall are you getting them in the 12-14 weeks?I only give my clones a week if that of veg time. This last round i sent them straight from the cloner to the flowering room. But i have a height challenged space.Any info is appreciated as i said i have the seeds, thanks for the heads up.
I think I might go with Low Ryder. As someone said to me before, I must learn to walk before I can run. =D
