EC/TDS meter questions

I just bought a HM Digital EC/TDS meter but i am having trouble figuring out wich mode to use for ppm readings
there is KCL 442 and NaCl and then for ec readings there is also KCL 442 and NaCl what do these mean and wich is the right mode to use?

Use the NACl EC

KCL is Potassium Cloride and NaCl is salt. That be kind of kewl if you could measure both in your solution. Use EC and convert it to PPM.

how do i convert ec to ppm?

If you fall back to RTFM (which I rarely do) there might be something in the manual to do it right from the meter itself.
