Expert Advice ONLY please, I don't want to be misled. Sorry.

Helpppp! I'm an aspiring cultivator, tried reading on the correct ways to ensure high quality buds & less money spent.
(Money is an object to me, so i'm not even going to pretend like I have it like that)

I germinated 10-15 seeds, hand picked the ones I wanted to grow.
So now I have 3 seedlings each in a 6in. metal flowering pot.
I have them sitting on the floor directly away from the window.
Since my current job doesn't pay me enough, I can't afford horticult. bulbs and such.. Natural lights where it's at for me.
The soil i'm using is, "Miracle-Gro Potting Mix". From what I've read it's decent potting soil.
So. The question is, will my babies grow properly with natural light & choice of soil?
....Or will I be putting time & effort towards FAILURE. (we don't want that)

Plants are about 2-3in's in height at the moment.

Hints & Tips NEEDED.
What can I do to make sure they remain healthy & grow with optimum results under the circumstances of income?

An expert opinion cost $$$. If you want free advice, better learn to settle for whatever you get.

Read through the site. Read books on botany. Grow some other veggies etc to get general gardening experience and your plants will be fine.

you reap what you sow. with cannabis the cheaper you go the worse your yield and final product will be
And that is sage like advice.

Read the forums bud. For a decent yield, there are some well known practices that are talked about in this forum to help your grow. Lighting, schedules, watering, nutes, and all the other shit. If your commitment is some seeds in a cup on your windowsill, you probably won't get much. If you can find it in your budget to go out and drop 60 bucks for some lighting, white paint, and a timer, you can move yourself into an actual ok crop.

One thing about miracle grow is that it would is alright to start with, but you'll have to supplement your soil later on in the grow or you'll start to see some nute deficiencies

But see that's where i'm confused.. Marijuanas been around a few years before Edison invented the light bulb. So I don't understand why everything is so complicated. Every other green plant grows easily with the same needs as cannibus. Water, Light, Wind for stronger limbs. Why can't there be marijuana growing books in laymans terms. I haven't went to horticultural school. I just know what i've learned in chem. & biology. Ha.

Growing Cannabis outdoors is very easy, growing cannabis indoors can be a very complicated business. Which do you want?

Miracle grow in any form ( fertilizer, soil, whatever ) will disappoint you. Direct natural sunlight will produce wonderful plants but just placing them near a window will surely disappoint. If you have any gardening skills you'll do fine but if not then you have a lot to learn before you'll produce something that you're proud of.

If you don't have any gardening experience then this is like going on to a carpentry website and asking how to build a house without knowing what a hammer is.

Good luck

you dont have to study horticulture to be an expert. read posts, talk to people. you get what you put in, and i dont just mean money.
somehow i cant imagine an indoor grow with no nutrients accept for whats in the soil to begin with and no artificial lighting is going to go extremely well.

Why some people even bother responding to questions when all they can come up with is go buy a book, facebook crowd, nice.

Anyhow if i read this right your growing in pots & using sunlight comming in from your windows & not placing the plants outside,in all likelyhood this wont work, due to lack of direct light the plants will stretch badly trying to reach optimum light, this stretching will leave the plants tall, weak & spindely, the space between nodes ( bud sites ) will be so far any buds will be tiny, the lack of direct light will leave the tiny buds light & fluffy, like a grams worth will fill a bag kinda deal.

Heres what ya do,keep in mind when you grow indoors everything needs to be exact, all light times must be precise for this to work, pick a time where you can take the plants outdoors & in direct sunlight, something like 7 am will work fine, leave the plants for exactly 12 hours then retrive the plants.

When you bring them back indoors put the plants someplace pitch black dark & leave them until 7am the next morning,be absolutely sure not to expose the plants to any light, not even a split second.

If you can keep up a schedule of exact times you can grow decent plants but you must not mess up with light or dark.

Dont worry about the miracle grow, people read things here & use what they read to explain why they fucked up,or they just pass on what they read others say so they have something to post, miracle grow is just fine but newb growers get bad results because they cant keep their hands off the plants & fertilize the hell out of them, then the plants get sick or die.

If your using mg soil just dont fertilize at all until about the 3rd week of 12/12 light, then when you do apply fertilizer any cheap bloom fertilizer such as miracle grow or other econmy brands will work fine, just be sure to only use 1/4 strength of the manufacturers mix directions.

Fertilize one time at the 3rd week of 12/12 then once again on the 6th week of 12/12 with 1/4 strength fertilizer & you wont hurt the plants, keep up the 12 hour schedule & in about 10 weeks you harvest buds.

The window light isnt gonna work but you can still pull it off if your dilligent & keep an exact schedule.

Panhead, you gave the best advice. I'm willing to spend no more than 150 on my set up, I just wanted to see what I could do with the little I had. Thanks bruh, 'preciate it!

Read the outdoor section in the forums on here. Lights aren't the be all and end all. They only make it possible to grow all year. If I had somewhere to do it, I would do an outdoor grow every year.

Why would you do that? It is impossible to tell how the plant is going to grow or yield or sex just by looking at it in seedling form. I have had some funky looking seedlings be the best yielders in my crop. You just wasted a bunch of money already and potentially killed some great plants.

I'm no EXPERT but I have faith it wont die :wall: Unless you do something like over water it... but then you might need the expert lol.

as any threads as you start on this, is the number of times i will say..........that light will not suffice. buy a couple of cfl's. to augment.

Yahh..I kinda already know that.
And I didn't waste any money..? I bought seeds online, they're not here yet. And I'm using bag seeds to practice on.. I can care less about the rest of those. I just want to have a test run before getting down to business.

If your home all day, then you can bring it from window to window and follow the sun. Then put it in complete darkness like a closet with 0! I mean 0 light leaks for 8 hours a night. Then take it out and back to the sun chasing from window to window. My friend does this with 1 plant a year and gets an ounce of tight buds from it.

When your ready to flower it, put it in the closet for 12 hours a night. Take it out for 12 hours of window to window sun chasing each day and youll get results.
