Ok about my plant..
10 weeks old
3' tall
11 days into flowering
getting miricle grow nutes 15/30/15 once every 2 weeks
cfl'grow
pH IS 6.8
the watering schedule is a bit messed up as i originaly thought this to be a over watering problem, so im only watering when soil is dry 2" deep, watering once till i see run off, waiting for run off to absorbe then watering again.

Ok the problem is the top 2' of the plant looks fine no problems at all, but the buttom 1' looks droopy, the new shutes which have grown out of the original nodes (where the weed grows i think) seem droopy, the small fan leafs are curled in on them selfs( like a cannoe) the whole fan leaf looks spider like. i thought it was overwatering and thought i had solved the problem, What i dont understand is the top ones look great, what kinda problem would only effect the bottom leafs? or maybe this is normal, also i have cfl's all over and arround the plant so its not a lack of light problem. Has anyone had/have this problem before, as id really like to sort this before it spreads up the plant. Thanks in advance
Baz

Pic 2 is the problem leafs and pic 3 is the upper ones that are fine

looks like it might be heat stress dont worry but u shoulkd move yr lights close cuz that plant is really stretched out.look at the distance between the nodes, get more fans and move lights close,,good luck

I cant move the lights any closer as they would be touching as there all arround 1 inch away, I really dunno why its stretched like it has as the cfl's have always been about 1 inch away, may down to the plant spending its first 2 weeks on kitch windowsill. Thanks anyway

Yeah even tomatoe feed would be alot better, miracle grow is a death trap for cannabis plants.

Why is it that any time a grower mentions using MG, lots of folks immediately pile-on with "it's the MG" ruining your life? Sometimes it may be your fertilizer that's creating issues, but mention MG, and there's NO DOUBT. Total BS.
It's the singer, NOT the song.

It was pointed out to me yesterday that many folks first experience in growing includes MG products . . . and since MANY fail in their first attempt at growing, and they used MG, then it's MG's fault. Gimme a break. That stuff's been around forever and if it was the crap many claim it is, well, you can figure out the rest. MG gets the bad rap because inexperienced growers sometimes fail and it's always easier to blame someone/something else. Period.

I know what your saying mr fishy, but my plant has never had any problems baring a few leafs drying up on the bottom during the early stages of veg, which i think most people have the same prob, but this problem did come about once i started with nutes, so it may be the MG im not sure, all i want to do is find out why its doing what its doing and stop it before the whole plants doing it, have you any ideas why its doing this
thanks

My first thought was wet-feet (over-watering) or not letting the planter dry out enough between waterings. They are two different things, I suspect.
IMO, nute issue would attack the new growth first, 'cuz it's active, not just hanging there.
My actual first thought was that this plant seems it could use more light . . . it's kinda leggy and there's too much space between the nodes. I'd maybe bend the tip over and down (be careful) and attach it w/something (not too thin) to the planter. I wouldn't think you'd want it to get any taller with that lower growth getting so far away from the light?

Just guessing though . . . have a look here? symptoms

Thanks i will have a look there, i added another 4 cfl's 2 days ago arround the plant so light shouldnt be an issue, its got 6 above in the hood and 6 spaced arround it at dif hights, think i'll try some dif nutes and see how it goes, and if that doesn't solve it try leess water as i have been giving it more thinking it was underwatering, and if that dont sort it, im just gonna leave it and see how it goes. thanks anyway, off to look at that symptoms thread

Maybe the strain is leggy-ish? Keep those nute dosages down (1/2?) if your introducing them for the first time and water thoroughly when you water. Grab a water wand/moisture meter if you get a chance . . . maybe $15?

the reason everyone is so down on MG, is that MOST of their products are non-organic and anything man made is bad for ANY plant that's going to be consumed. It will grow them big and healthy but ur consumable product, in this case buds won't be as good w/out the organic. i'm with you tho. can't understand why they would blame anything but the finished product on the MG. i'd say the curling leaves could be from "wet feet" but more likely it's from humidity problems, check ur level should be at around 40% for best results. Just mho tho.

?? The VAST majority of the hydro nutes are non organic. Lots of hydro grown stuff at the market.

Fox Farm isn't organic. (except one of the nutes)

I strongly disagree. Anything is a death trap if not used properly. I used MG for the whole time I was in veg every other week and I am more then happy with the results.

WHEN YOU GROW WITH CFS LIGHTS YOU HAVE TO EXPECT THAT IT'S NOT GOING TO BE THE MOST STOCKY PLANT YOU'VE EVER GROWN. THESE SMALL CFL LIGHTS JUST DON'T PUT OUT ENOUGH LUMENS. THAT'S WHY I GOT A GREAT BIG 200 WATT CFL, YOU KNOW, THE ONES THAT HAVE THAT BIG "MOGUL" SOCKET. ANYWAYS, I HAVE THAT IN A REFLECTOR OVER MY TWO AND A HALF FOOT SQUARE VEG ROOM. I PUT MY CLONES IN THERE FOR A MONTH BEFORE I BUD THEM. BUT IT'S NORMAL TO HAVE A FEW LEAVES NEAR THE BOTTOM OF YOUR PLANT DRY OUT. I'M ALSO USING THE MIRACLE GROW, NOT NUTES, BUT ORGANIC POTTING SOIL. I USE FOX FARM NUTRIENTS AND THEY ARE ALRIGHT, I JUST CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO PAY SO MUCH MORE FOR THE OTHER SUPPOSED SUPER NUTRIENTS. EVERYTHING IS WORKING OUT FOR ME. I WOULD RECOMMEND PUTTING THAT PLANT OUTSIDE SO THAT IT WOULD GET REAL SUNLIGHT. :weed:

Changed out the soil, and shit went alright, but slow in recovery. 3 more weeks, and i went right back to MG, and 2 weeks later, im BURNED again!!! fuckin assholes....i gotta go to the dro shop tomorrow to pick up some fox farm - woulda used it from the start if ida known there was a shop by my cribbage.

hope your baby turns out ok man, bin that MG n pick up some other typa nutes. I used Colorburst nutes for a little bit, n they did ok - no serious burn at all...

You ruined your grow not the MG. Don't use nutes until the plant ASKS for them.

Do you eat when you aren't hungry or when you are full?

Well im off to get some tomato feed or something like that as i strongly feel it may be some thing to do with the MG nutes, as my plant was fine right up untill i used it, i may be wrong but i have tried everthing else, watering less, watering more and adding more lights, i got give it a try and see how it goes. I will post the results, good or bad, thanks alot for the help

miracle grow is shitty.. thats all there is to it. Thats not to say however that miracle grow cant be used? Miracle grow is nothing more than a synthesized plant food made up of an ass load of chemicals. Those chemicals dont just disappear in the plant, they go straight to the bud, altering the taste of the bud. Ever had a headache after smokin some dro? or just any bud in general? thats most likely because the grower was using a miracle grow to produce, and those are the chemicals your smoked giving you a headache. Where im from, we are known coast to coast for good weed man.. you can use whatever you want, but up here, MG is shunned.. As far as the node issue, spend the cash and get a stronger light.. 450-600 watt.. RS/HPS.. the nodes should be about 1-2 inches apart.. your stalk dosent look too bad, if you want, get a fan and set it up on the plant, you dont need too, but your stalk will get thicker to compensate for the sway, and in turn your gonna get more growth out of everything..

anything else feel free to ask, ill answer to the best of my knowledge.

Happy blazin fellow botanists
