Hello RIU,

Having nice week? Hope so! Here the story, husband and i been talking for upgrading some of our method due to us being older and having more things to cover.

I heard him talk about how he would like to have a cloning machine multiple times so i would like to buy him what he been wishing for a while. I saw that people also suggest to make a DIY cloner. The problem is that we are not very skilled to make that kind of DIY and also the fact that most things we need to buy to make it is over priced here where we live and ordering it would involve a good shipping fees. So buying one is almost the best option for the money spent.

The question is; anyone who use those machine could suggest which one work the best? I heard power cloner was the one to buy but need some different suggestions.

Thanks lot and wish every one a nice day & holiday.

Please avoid giving a biased answer since i cant afford to buy something just because you prefer company A over company B.

Thanks!

no bias but you/husband are capable of building a DIY version, you can do it! i'll dig up some directions if you are open to the task.

Thanks for the suggestion but its also the fact that ordering piece to make one would cost us almost the same price as the real thing due to over priced shipping price from most hydrostore on those air pump + water pump. Same goes for buying them retail. What cost you 10-20$(Airpump) cost 35-40$ here. We might have chance of finding a leaking container as well :)

Just want to buy a complete kit. Found sweet deals on both. Just want to know which one give better result.

Thanks for future answer and thanks again Matt!

Hello RIU,

Hows everyone today? Anyone got an answer for me? :D
ez clone is redesigning their whole system to go more advanced, thats the inside info. maybe a year out on that.

for which one to buy: my botanicare 25 site cloner is lame, i would get one of the larger designs: 40 site plus. just because a cramped rooting box is no good and smaller volumes of water easily heat up from the pump. sorry, that's all the advice i got.

oh yeah, why do you need to go aero? is rockwool an option? super cheap and easy.

What I use to clone 100% success.

Humidity dome with tray -> $5.49

Heating Mat (pad) -> $24.95

Heat Mat Thermostat -> $34.95

A couple of CFL's ?

I use Rapid rooters or Rockwool :bigjoint:

We are in soil. We used to use rapid rooters , Jiffy pellet. The problem is that recently it look like they changed something in the water . We keep having green slimes on our fresh clones (1-2 days after having them in dome)

I would just buy water (or a good filter), instead of going aeroponic for rooting. Jiffy pellets, rockwool, oasis cubes all work great.

Sterilize your cuttings before transplanting by dipping the stems in a solution of filtered water and hydrogen peroxide, I forget the exact ratio, but 10:1 should do fine. Then whatever you use for rooting, then stick it. Sounds like you know what to do. Don't use the dome if that is the issue, not needed. Root your cuts in a room with RH over 50% and you should be fine. Mist the first few days if you have to, but you shouldn't have to use a dome if that is creating the issue.
