yeah, i like nothing is better then being in touch with nature when stoned, so much more enjoyable then just watching south park. budman, there is something special about cities as well, especially when its pissing down with rain and you just look out at the massive expanse of city... all the people rushing about.

One of the best ways to meditat is to to set a timer for 5 minutes and sit on the ground in half or full lotus. Keep your back straight and lean against a wall using pillows. Maintain good posture... Close you eyes and simply stay still... Just watch you mind and your body... Do not itch. Do not move.. Do not react to the sensations of either the outer or the inner world.. You will have to stay very alert in order to not react... Do this for 5 minutes when you awake and 5 minutes before you sleep.. Increase your sitting by one minute every 1-3 days until you get to 10 minutes... Stay steady with 10 minutes for a week or 2 weeks and then begin to increase your time by 1 minute a day.

You will quickly realize that you are not your thoughts... That you are actually an independent witness that gets sweap away by thoughts and live as a robot with no control...lol.. This is whjy it is very very important to stay alert and just watch... Do not react to anything.. If you leg falls asleep.. Deal with it.. Accept it... Watch it... Do not move it or react...

This practice will quickly lead into the awareness of awareness itself.. Then you will be ready to truly meditate..

This is a process that many millions know about... Many billions deny, laugh at, and protest like crying babies, this is a process that fewer than 100,000 will take to the level of becoming aware of eternity... For eternity...

loved that post gk... you can also try a sort of 'life meditation' budman, when ever you're doing something boring like at work or something, try not to let your mind run around in circles and just watch all that is. be fully aware of each little movement you do if you think "i'm bored" just watch that thought, don't try to fight it. just see that it is there and it will pass

it's extreamly useful when dealing with things/people that piss you off:
say theres a car alarm or a dog barking. your mind will want to deny the sound and try to fight it. if you just concentrate on the sound and accept it to be there, you'll be in peace.

much love
p.s i like your avatar. snes rocks... and so do naked women.

This is what I was talking about Johnny. You can meditate without the need to sit still. Even if you take a nice, long walk along a country path...

WHEN something seems noisy and loud and bothersome... what is really making the noise? WHo ismaking the noise...?

it is always ONESELF... it is the minds complaining that really is annoying...

of the mind was not complaining there would be NO annoyance...

This is a perfect example of the trickery of the mind and the self delusion that we live in...

We ony see ourselves... we only hear ourselves.. LOL

I agree with skunk.

I do traditional meditation in order to connect with whatever is beyond the veil of the body, but I love turning on to nature x1,000,000 more.

I call it meditation when I put on Dimlite on my iPod and go walking around the city or the country (I'm graced with both, being on the suburban outskirts of Kansas City).

The country is the best, fresh air... the different types of trees, different smells. Walking, and you are the only person you can see. You can even sit for a while if you like. Now that is peace.

I do something called energy body.... I shift my awareness from my mind into my body.... I don't react to the sensations BT rather observe until I can become aware of the entire body as energy.. then, ONE can actually become aware of individual cell replication and death....

I've tried doing this on many occasions. I seek to control myself. Yet, I lack the final belief that will push me into controlling my entire body. I started with my toes, lol, back in the day. Try to control the little toe on your foot and move it on its own. It helps if you start with feet flat on the floor until you get the hang of it, then you are able to do it with your foot in the air. It takes concentration, but not much. You are aware of cell replication. Hmmm, I've felt this before too but I don't know how true it is, if you catch my drift. I get there, then i have to fight against something telling me that it's all pointless bullshit. I have controlled many parts of my body, I can speed up or slow down my heart rate almost at will, I can ask my brain to release seratonin, and if I desire I can experience something similar to an xtc rush. But, is it the truth?

as soon as i sit down in my garden at night i get warm waves of tingle that pass through my body. it just feels like love. that's the only way i can describe it. every time i go out there. it is the most wonderfully feeling.

This is what I'm talking about. You ask for that warm feeling, you want it and it comes. Try 'asking' for the same feeling while doing something else. You'll get the feeling, it will happen, then something in the background will whisper "This isn't real."

Just let the THOUGHTs come and go... do not hold onto the thoughts or give them any attention.. keep the awareness on the body... NO reaction or analysis is to be DONE...

This is called meditation.... when the thoghts become over whelming and DEMAND attention.... ONE can switch their attention to their breath...

thoughts are NOT true... thoughts are just...."THOUGHTS".... there is NO control over thoghts... only the illusion of control... There is Awareness and the ability to shift that awareness from my to body to whatever..
