First attempt at edibles doesn't seem to be working?

Honestly the quality of the weed that is used to make the oil doesn't really matter, so long as you use enough to pack a bunch of THC into the oil. I can make kick-ass oil from leaf, I shit you not. The trick is to use water to buffer the oil and plant material. When I make oil from leaf, I'll get a big pot and fill it half-way of the way with packed leaf. Then fill it 3/4 full with water, bring to boil and add 20 oz of coconut oil. Let it boil for a few hours on low, then turn off the heat and let it cool. Strain off the liquid, squeezing as much out of the plant material as possible, then let the liquid mixture cool in the freezer. The oil and water will separate, and you will be left with good quality canna cooking oil.
Yeah my butter made from leaf is usually better than bud. I use 35 to 40g of sugar leaf to 250gvof butter and its very good high

Clearly I have entered a den of anti-abv snobbery and I'm not going to get any advice other than not to use it, so I'm done here.
Thanks for making a newbie feel welcomed!
You're being ridiculous...
You come to a weed forum asking why your shit sucks, get told multiple reasons, and then argue that your way is not wrong....If your way is not wrong, why are your edibles weak ass?
You're using abv, which reduces the amount of thc by a large amount, and the amount of terps almost totaly. You're using too much solvent for the volume of low quality material you have. You're skipping steps...
That's why your edibles suck. But go ahead and argue some more about how we're wrong, while i go sell more cookies that people have to split at least in half, if they want to remain conscious.

Turns out I can't delete this, so will just edit this in:
I get it, abv is terrible and I'm a clown for trying to replicate something thousands of other people seem to be doing successfully (but no one here, obviously).
Please don't bother responding, I'm done here.

My last (and first) post here was about getting my canna-coconut-oil strained, which I eventually did. Ended up with a whole litre of oil! My next step was to make some edibles to test it out.

I made a simple vegan fudge to a recipe I found online, to give you an idea of scale (converted to metric) it was: 525g chocolate, 370ml tin of condensed milk, and 28g canna coconut oil. If it matters, once it chilled in the fridge, there was a small amount of fat bloom on the top of the fudge (the rest was homogenous).
I have no way (I know of) of testing the potency of the oil as, being in the UK, the weed is from ~a guy~, rather than from a dispensary that has such information! If it helps, it is all one strain (Stardog) and was all vaped at no higher than 185 degrees C.

At first I just took a small bite of fudge and waited, but nothing happened. The next day I ate the rest of the piece I took the bite from and waited, again nothing, the next day a whole piece at once, nothing, and today two pieces at once and nothing again (I was doing this each morning, before my first vape of the day, to try and minimize overlap. After 1-2hr of no effect I continued to vape as usual). I think I have pretty high tolerance (medicate several times a day and have done for well over a decade, am not able to take a break as some pain comes back within less than a day without), but little experience with edibles (and a strong aversion to feeling sick, which is what I read happens if you eat too much), so I was erring on the side of caution, perhaps a little too much?

Do I just keep eating more until I feel something? If so, and it ends up taking a whole load of fudge to have any impact, that seems like an inefficient way to consume, so how do I make a stronger edible next time (I assume just upping the oil might ruin the recipe?)? Is there a better way to test the oil itself without having to eat it neat but also without having to make whole more batches of food to test?

Have I missed something else?

TIA!
you said you got a liter of oil but you never said how much weed you put in that?
allsoo after you made the cookies you licked the oily spoon? that should have knocked you out.
maybe you cooked it at a high temperature and all of it evaporated....

not unless it's cbd weed to begin with...
it's just weed that's had about 70% of the trichomes on it melted off...
degrading thc doesn't turn it into cbd, it just turns it into shit
I hope this isn't too stupid of a question but what does "abv" stand for? I'm sort of on the older spectrum.

I thought everyone was being mean to that guy because I had trouble with butter too. I wasn't using used weed though and turns out edibles don't do a lot for me either.
did you decarb the weed first? when i make butter i trade time for temperature...if you decarb weed in an oven at 225 for 30 minutes, that's long enough, if you do it in a crock pot with butter, you need to leave it in there for at least 6 hours, up to 12 won't hurt anything.

I was making strong butter (my girlfriend got messed up on just a little) just not straining it right so it was sort of flavorful. I also figured out I'm not a big fan of the edible buzz---got me high but in a headachy and go to bed type. Store bought aren't readily available so only have had the opportunity to try one and it didn't do anything for me although my friends said they were feeling good. It sucks because I enjoy cooking

I'm in kind of the same boat, edibles either do nothing to me, or make me sleepy. Makes me kind of jealous when all my friends eat my edibles and get all fucked up, and i'm either feeling nothing or yawning and nodding off.

Didn't read all the posts.

My wife just uses trim, decarbs, grinds, mixes with Butter in her Butter Machine.

Then she uses it in her cookies that will keep me buzzing for hours.

Don't know how much she uses but it is not near what I'm seeing here.

i like them strong. i don't use butter, anymore, makes too much mess, and still tastes very "green" to me.
i've been using kief for quite a while now, decarbing it, and mixing it straight into the batter.
i use about 30 grams for 4 dozen cookies, and i try to mix it in as evenly as possible.
i honestly have no idea how much thc per cookie that is, but they put all but the hardest of hardcore people down for a nap, if they eat the whole cookie.

How much weed do you folks use per quart of coconut oil / butter?

I've been using 60 grams of decarbed weed per 950 ML (about a quart) and some people find it great and others don't feel anything.

Advice would be appreciated.

I make a RSO from 70g of decarbed bud mix it into a 1/4 cup coconut oil and 1/4 tbsp of lecithin.
I then fill approximately 100 "00" capsules.

I know they're potent as all hell but they don't do much for me. Edibles. Bleh.
