so I have decide to start an auto flower for the first time. I have grown plenty of plants in my day however never an auto. I keep reading about light schedules, some say 12/12 other day 16/8? What the hell? Can someone please give me a set light schedule. Also, is my set up good to support an auto? I would like as much info as I can get from veg to harvest if its possible. I have seen a few post on here answering this question but nothing that really gives me what I'm looking for. My setup specs are listed below, please leave any advise on germinating, seedlings, environment, anything at all would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

I would do 18 on/6 off. Also depending on how big your auto gets u could start seedlings in the same tent on this light schedule, if there's room. while u wait on your auto to finish. Grow specs look good. Best luck

Thanks guys. I was really worried about the lift schedule as I could really find a solid answer. 18/6 has been the most consistent so I will go with that. I know not to transplant but that's about it lol I been doing some reading, haven't received my seeds yet

Anyone tried 24hr lighting with autos? . I usualy go with 24hr with photo dependant strains until flowering, but im new to autos, just wondered if theres any benafit or pros/cons to 24 apart from cost. Rudi

I run most of mine either 20/4 or 24/0, either works fine. 20/4 will give you pretty much the same results as 24/0 and saves some electricity. difference in yield will be 2-5%

Here's a Sweet Trainwreck grown with 20/4

yeild was 4 ounces, 32" tall, 34" wide

WOWZER, No wonder the train crashed, the driver was paying more attention to the plant and missed the red light

Thanx for the info green sticky fingered friendz, Thats us sorted on lighting Kenobi , nise to get a str8 answer to a simple question.

Ive got (hypotheticly of course) 2 sensi skunk autos under 50w of pure white led floodlight under 24 hrs untill they get a few proper leaves, then I aim to get them under a 100w pure white led cob or ive 20 x 10w cob's (mixture of warm/cool white) to spread around my 3ft x 3ft x 6ft grow tent.
Im also still deciding if i pop my 150w dule mh/sodium in there with a sodium light in it or stick to cob's placed around & close to the plants tips.
ive read that the sensi skunk auto has a taller main cola and some side branching, so im w8ing for them to grow up & then decide.
As im only growing 2 plants (hypotheticly), Im forgoing the 400w duel mh/sod untill I get a better idea of how the plants do, then I aim to do a single grow with the other 3 and that should last me quite some time. :weed:

Well, if its a BIG producer of potent weed you want, try Dutch Passion Auto Ultimate. This one gave up 13 oz. dry. Would have been a pound or more but I had to chop 3 weeks early due to f'n spidermites......

here is the growth cycle for auto's :
week 1-3 - vegation
weeks 4-10 - flower
It's best to give your plant some dark time (every living thing does require some) use 20/4 or even 18/6. Not to confuse you but some use 12/12 when in flower (works very well)(18/6 vegation then 12/12 flower !)

so how would you say that the 12/12 compares to 20/4 during flowering? I can see that the 12/12 makes sensi :bigjoint: but being that autos are ment to flower during long daylight hours, I was just curious to hear some feedback from growers.
Also what strains and from which seedbanks are you baseing that info on?? I can see that it would help both me and Kenobi out. I can also see this info being used to make a new thread, with SEEDBANK/STRAIN & GROWTH/FLOWER LIGHT HOURS. THANX Rudi:leaf:

HIGH kenobi, Just back from the future, I got into the time machine & fastfowarded to a time when it was legal to grow MJ in the UK,
Had me 2 sensi skunk autos under 50w of pure white led floodlight under 24 hrs light & they were getting noware fast, so remembering what i had read in 2016 on this verry thread, i tried the 20/4 light hours. well that little bit of darkness shure made a whole lot of differance, thats some speedy growth. those lil babies shot out 2 sets of leaves in 3 x 4hr darkness periods and had started on a new set. I wish i had the pics to show you, but paradoxicly they vanished apon my return, but im sure they will turn up in time :weed:

Hey guys, ive been running 7-1 , so i end up with 21 light & 3 dark , in the 24 hour cycle, its great for keeping the tent at an even temp, especially if your under a HPS
Heres a little Autopounder by Auto Seeds, @ day 55
Im not hugely experienced with Auto's, but LST works very well, & from a young age , they luv it, & dont end up looking like a xmas tree with a cuppla side branches
Some of the better grows ive seen are all in Airpots, never tried myself, but shall , there must be something in it
& 1 more tip for you Kenobi, is silicone, ........this advise has come to me from a very experienced Auto grower.........it helps the plant with temp flucuation, & strengthens the structure, or cell walls of branches, its cheap & for a few plants it lasts for ever(almost)
Also do not TOP a auto, dont give em any set backs in veg or u will pay, they dont have time to recover before flowering , unlike a photo

Cheers, & good luck
