Hey everyone. I have experience with passive hydro setups. It's how I learned and until recently, I was afraid to change. After joining this awesome forum, I've decided to attempt a large-scale DWC setup. I know I only have a couple posts so far but I plan to be around for a while and I could use any advice you guys have to offer. I promise to make a journal when everything is set up (End of Febuary I'm thinking)
My proposed setup is 3 600 watt hps and 3 1000 watt mh. I want to do it Scrog style because I have the space. (About 2500 sq' total) I'm thinking 4 separate reservoirs feeding a total of 36 plants so in case one setup fails, they don't all fail. As far as strains, I want to go Indica, heavy yielders and maybe 4 different strains with similar flowering times. I'm leaning towards Vanilla kush and some variants of that but I'm open to suggestions.
After reading Homebrewers (and others) journals I've decided to give the DG line of nutrients a try. Before I was using AN. I know I can make my own and it will be cheaper but cost isn't the number 1 factor right now (Maybe #3 though)
I'm curious about LED technology cost versus output? As far as strain types, I'm a bit out of date. I last grew Black Domina and that was common back then. I've also been hearing that certain strains react better to the blue light of MH. Is that true? Finally, For this size of grow, would it be worth it to put in CO2 right away or should I wait until I have some cash to get a better CO2 setup?
