Yeah I keep my res from 65-68 degrees I use a lot of air and at least 3 air stones in each 5 gallon res and the plants love the extra oxygen ..
I'm wanting to do something like this to get my feet wet with Hydro. I use Aero to clone but they clog so easy I don't want to grow with Areo.
Do you have to change out the water? how often? I would think that just adding water and nutes the PPM would creep up?
With RDWC is there a seperate main res that feeds the DWC pots?
Looking good keep going tap water, get a ppm meter it really is a must, keep PH around 5.8 I would add nutrients after another week slow is better than too fast did you add any rooting hormone?
Yea I agree with the tap water I'm switching over to reverse osmosis water she does look kinda yellow and I used 3 day old tap water but I don't know what my city has in there water and RO water has lowest ppm I heard so when I do the water change i got RO water spent some time at my local hydro store and had a long conversation with someone who works there ever time I've been in that store they treat me like suit but this dreadlock lady is only there on Saturdays and she was awesome so I've decided to only go when she's working she didn't give me that look Like I was a heroin addict like everyone else who works there but anyways
Does anyone have any suggestions on dosage for foxfarms nutes I should use for starting my nutes I have the ff feeding schedule but not sure if inshould start with the dosages they say I should use any opinions on this ?
Tap water is usually fine unless it's high PPM. It may be going yellow because it has no nutrients with just tap water. My clones usually do this before I start adding nutes, then they go back green again.
You also don't need a float valve when doing RDWC to keep your water level the same if you set up an ODWC system. Overflow-DWC. It's easier, and your buckets can remain modular while still recirculating. Much better than standard RDWC I think. Your waterpump can also be much smaller with ODWC. I use an 8W water pump for 4 buckets, and I could get away with 6 or 8 on it. And another advantage, no hand watering for young plants who's roots don't touch the water yet, You just put the feeder tube in the top so it runs through the hydroton keeping the roots wet until they reach down into the water.
