The way I figure you need these things to keep track of what your doing.
Using others experience to your advantage by duplicating the conditions they used.
Without those tools it would be impossible to do that.
Also: Total costs for a simple grow op = maybe what a few hundred dollars? even less?
Total savings by having better weed than you can buy local= priceless...

lol you are absolutely right..that is why I don't have a problem investing in the grow. I just can't wait until I can sex them and begin flowering, but I know I am far from that right now.

:bigjoint:Date: 5/06 – 3:45pm
Room Conditions:
LIGHTS (65w Warm White, 42w Soft White, 65w Cool White, 30w Bright White CFLs) ON 18/6 (off time 12am to 6am)
Distance from top of Growing Medium 13 - 20"
Temperature - 85.6F

Humidity - 34%
Room/Light vent running-
NO (open space and running CFLs)
Small room fan (on low, facing plants, timed off / on with the lights)

Water Conditions:

Reservoir Aeration running- Always
Temperature – 27 C
PH –
6.0 (a better reader is on the way)
PPM – 2540

Nutrient Solution: 2 GAL.
General Hydroponics MaxiGro (less than 1/4 the dosage)

Notes:
  • I am seeing great growth and progress.
  • No. 14 and 15 have been planted in aquarium rocks...didn't have anymore perlite, but will get some asap.
  • No. 14 and 15 were allowed to have a longer length in rockwool. This allowed them more direct contact with the nutes and forced them to stretch due to being so far from the lights.
  • No. 8 seemed to be developing something, but it has ceased to spread. There was a little yellowing at the tip of a lower leaf, but I am pretty sure it has out grown it.
  • No. 7 seemed to have a milder version of w/e No. 8 had, but has since out grown it.
  • No. 11 needs to be transferred to a cup with medium asap, but I don't have the time to do it now.
  • In general I've seen some leaf curling or maybe that is just how they are stretching to better receive the light?
  • Wondering why my ppm is so high and what I should do to fix it.

That sure is a high PPM you have that thing calibrated right?
What does your tap water read without any nutes?

If it really is that high you would have a lot of yellow (burnt) leaf tips so I would think its more the reading than the solution.
