questions. does this schedule seem ok?
when should i up the nutes to 1/2 strength?
Everything seems sound. I want to say 1-2 weeks on the nutes, but don't quote me on that. My nutes still haven't even shown up in the mail yet.

what you are saying is: not to give nutes until week 3 of veg. i burned the hell out of them in the beginning. started nutes about 3rd week after sprouting. also started out 1/4 strength at that time.

its been a few days so ill bring it up to speed. then some pics.

a few thing have changed since last pics. the plant i have been calling hay wire. the resuce plant. its been in flower for 23 days. starting some buds. i took some wire and spread the branches out to get light on as many bud sites as possible.

i took a clone from haywire and its has gained growth but no roots. any idea what i can do to gain roots? already have a root stimulator in the res. all the other clone have crazy root growth. please anybody with any info on this help me out.

the other 4 plants, i put into flower 2 days ago. holy shit have they took off. i hope i have room. next grow i think i will stick with 2 maybe 3 plants. and flower sooner.

ppm 1100
ph 5.8
temp 72-80
res temp 68-72

went out of town for three days. got back tonight and boy did i fuck up. we were only to be gone for 2 days, but a snow storm that scared my wife. kept us there for 1 extra day.

first thing was that these plants drained 5 of the 6 gallons that i changed out before i left. before i left i was only adding 1 gallon a day. what was weird is that i tested the water with the TDS meter. it was still at 1120. like before i left. how is that possible?

second fuck up. i was turning the lights off by hand. before i left i hooked up the timer. its just one of those timers that you put the little clips on the dial, and as it turn it contacts a switch which turns it off or on. there are different clips. one for off and one for on. i put two of the ones for on. so the lights where one the whole time i was gone.

the 4 plants that went into flower 3 days before i left are fine. a little brown on the roots and about 6" growth. 2 of them i am going to have to tie them back now.

the plant that had been flowering for about 25 days looks fine also. the buds went nuts. growth is amazing for just 3 days. the smell is much sweeter than before.

now this leads me to so many question.

was that growth spurt normal for 25days of flower. or was this caused buy the 3 straight days of light in the middle of flower?

has anybody ever experimented with this before? throw them back in to veg half way through flower to gain mass?

do you think this hurt the potency of the buds?

will i need to flower for longer now?

if anybody out there could give any insight i would appreciate it.

shit i just though of this are they going to hermi

some up to date pics.

the one with the buds has been flower for 33 days.

can anybody tell if i should worried about the tip of the buds turning red/brown is this normal?

i have been looking at them with a 60x - 100x scope and see no amber at all.

how much longer would you think?

stats
temp 68 - 75
res temp 72
ppm 1200
ph 5.5 only need to add ph down once maybe twice a week.

should i trim back some of the leaves so the light can get to the buds?

these are the 4 other plants. been in flower for 12days

here is a link to a few pics could you look and tell me if they are male or female? https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/60567-male-female.html

if anybody could answer a few of my question i would appreciate it greatly.

i usually trim any leaves that are turning yellow/starting to curl up. i think you still have a few more weeks as well, but lookin tasty :).

Mine has been flowering for 50+ days so far and the tops are turning an orangish color. Shes not ready to finish up yet so im pretty sure its fine.

thanks dae for your comment.
I'm still several weeks away from my first flowering cycle so I'm not certain about it, but I've readd that you should never cut leaves unless they're at least 50% dead. Though that could just be for while they're vegging.

been awhile. three of my plants where males. so they are gone. i am left with one from the bag seed. and the one i called haywire. because it looked like this. ahywireday1.jpg. this plant is in soil. been giving water with nutes at a ppm of 1100. run off ph is at 6.5. if i remember right its been 12/12 for 45 days.

i also have one that a friend gave me. he said it was chronic. it vegged for 2 weeks now its been in 12/12 for about 4 days. ph at steady 5.5, ppm 700 right now. this was vegged under 2' 4 bulb 96watt 6500k t5. the others where under the 1000w hps. man i think the node spacing under t5 is just as good as the 1000w. only thing is i did not have the ph meter or the TDS meter when i vegged the others. i am sure that played a big role in development.

the flower room
1000w hps 12/12
temp 65f-75f
humidity 35%-45%

i changed the reservoir again. the tubs i had where way to small for 2 plant in each one. like many of you had told me in the begging. so shit the only thing i could think of doing was trying to replicate the pot system soil growers use. it just looks like it be easier to move around. plenty of spacing between plant. and using a reservoir with 2.5 gallon of water. saved me on the nutes. i usually only have to add 1 to 1.5 gallon a day to res. i go back to work next week, i am usually on the road for 3-5 days at a time. i am trying to set this up so my wife would just go in and add water that already ph, and ready to go with nutes.

some pics
the reservoir. each has a pump 325gph attached to 2 spray heads, and two air stone attached to 60-100 gallon pump.

here is some shot of that plant i call haywire.

hay3.jpghay4.jpghay6.jpghay7.jpghay10.jpghay11.jpghay13.jpg
hay14.jpghay15.jpghay16.jpghay17.jpghay18.jpghay19.jpghay20.jpg
hay21.jpghaywire2.jpghaywire.jpg

this is not a monster or anything. there are multiple shots of same buds. cant figure out this camera so half the shots i take are way to blurry.

can anybody answer some question.

can you tell by the pics as to how much longer?

is the ppm level of 1200 ok?

the buds look kinda weird. i have never grown before so i can only compare to pics. do these look ok?

i was starting to worry because there was really no smell, no residue on my hands after messing with them, and looking through the scope i could not see that many trics. well they were there but they where the capitate-sessile trics. not really any stalked trics. i now nothing of what i a m saying, except what i had read here. GROWFAQ
only the last 2 days has the smell and resin on hand started.
so my question is the elongated stalked trics with the gland at the end. (bulbous tric) this is the tric i am looking for to gage the maturity of the plant. is this also the tric that should be changing from clear to amber?

i ask because the other trics the capitate-sessile trics, that lay flat with no elongated stalk are already turning amber in some areas.

i am getting 100+ hit in a week on this thread, but no replies. 4/14 1409 hits 4/18 1513hits. come on man. this is my first grow. i have done a lot of research. but aside from seeing a friends grow once about 5years ago, i have never seen a plant in different stages. so any pointer would be greatly appreciated. i am just not for sure if i am doing this right, or could be doing it better.

this is the one i call haywire. because it was so messed up at the start.
went into flower 2/25/08. so its 54days. all pics taken up to this point are in my gallery. the smell is still weak. when i check on them this morning it seemed like the red hairs went nuts over night. i am seeing more and more tric in the scope. mostly cloudy, very few clear, and almost no amber. if i had to put a % to it i would say: 80% cloudy, 15% clear, 5% amber.
