First off, love this site. Been reading for about a month and ready to dive into the world of growing. My setup is going to be in a closet roughly 4' x 6' x 8' H with a 2' x 3' scuttle hole in the cieling that goes to my attic.

What im wanting to use: I want to cover everything with mylar.

Im looking to use a CAP Nextgen 400/600w HPS/MH Digital ballast. (any one have experience with these or similar?)

Im getting clones.

My questions are:

I plan on doing 6 plants in either 3 or 5gallon pots and if I use a 400w for veg and a 600w for flowing....

1. Can I take out the attic cover and this keep temps low enough?(it will prob get to 100 F outside. I planned on gettin some of that black/white plastic stuff to make a "door" so i dont have to close my closet untill the lights go off. I plan on getting 2 4-5 inch oscilatting fans to keep the air moving.

2. Will a dome like relector work? or should i get one that i can attach a duct too, to keep the area cool?

3. If i get a dome reflector could i just run a duct from my return duct to pull air out of the closet. Also if I got a reflector with the duct attachment could I just use my return air to pull air out instead of buying an inline fan.

Hey, here are some answers that I hope will help you.

1. You might have to just watch what your plants are doing once they're in there. Sometimes things aren't as bad as you might think they will be.

2. That sounds like it might work, but again, see how things go before you start installing new things.

3. Huh, that sounds like it might work really well.

It really sounds like you've done your research. I would just go for it and see how things pan out. If they don't, then you can fix it up and try again.

I have the same light set up by NEXTGEN and right now, I am not having too bad a problem with the heat. I am growing in my bedroom closet and I am able to keep the temps down with two oscilating fans running in there. I have an A/C cooled hood with glass but I don't have any duct hooked up right now. Lack of cash. I have been flowering for about four weks now. I can touch the glass when it has been running all day. Very happy with the lights.
