This is my first grow so I went with stardawg autflower. It is now 20 days old and it is very small. The temps have been around 71-82 degrees with 50-65% humidity. Soil PH is steady around 7.

How small is small? I have an auto that didn't start flowering till day 45. Break it down for us, planting medium, lights, nutrients or fertilizers?

By the chart here you need to be warmer and humid in veg for it to grow best. I was looking at this realizing how much work I am going to have to do controlling my environment. For led lights I am using the zero degree leaf temp diff.

I have 1 plant in a 3x3x4 grow box and a 600w LED grow light with both veg and bloom on, and there is very little stretching. I keep the light between 24 and 30 inches above the plant. i did however have 1 hiccup and the temps in my box dropped to 51 degrees, could that have temporarily stunted its growth?

Using pro mix organic medium, only fed twice with alaska fish, 600w LED grow light, using distilled water. I had low humidity for awhile, between 40 and 55 until I added an air cooler. Now it is between 66 and 70 humidity.

this is a close up of one of my leaves, do I have spider mites? Or is that powdery mildew?

I'm not seeing any signs of powdery mildew nor spider mites.... Believe me you'll know when you have mites....My simple opinion is that you're looking at a very very slight nutrient burn and that's common with plants in the early vegetative stage.....It's the equivalent of a newborn baby eating whole foods when their stomachs can't process that just yet it's no different than a newborn plant not being able to process the nutrients it's absorbing. So far so great and my tip would be to allow the plant to show you what it needs... The only real issues people run into with autos is root rot and the occasional overdose of nitrogen (Dark green + Clawing) Your girls look nice and healthy. Just let them be a plant.

Auto in coffee can = smaller plant.

First initial 4-5 weeks , autos have limited vegging time ( setup rootmass , structure ) .
Not sayin it won’t get some size but is now constrained to that size you used. Once auto senses some rooting issues ( confined) it will move to next phase ( sexing out / preflower ) based on its environment. Nothing you can do to change that.

People saying not to plant in final ( larger ) sizes from germ are wrong ....

That couldn't be any more wrong. I always transplant autos. I would never germinate in a final container, that doesn't promote proper root ball growth.

What does being your first grow have to do with choosing to grow an Auto? They're no easier to grow than a photo. The only thing an auto does is flower on it's own. And these days there are many growers who's auto's don't even do that from all the crappy genetics out there today.

If you're growing indoors all you have to do is switch a photoperiod plant to 12/12 when you want to flower. With an auto if you have a small plant like that which is likely going to start flowering on it's own soon you won't get much yield at harvest time. Had you grown a photoperiod plant you'd have time to let it get much bigger and then flower it when you wanted. It's as simple as a cheap timer.

I just don't understand why so many new growers start off with auto's for a first indoor grow under lights. Auto doesn't mean it's any easier to grow if that's what some people think.

Hope for a rapid growth spurt. I guess it's possible.

I am doing my first grow in a 2x2x3 tent 5 gallon pot started from seed. I feel like my plant got pretty big but now I am currently now at day 41 dealing with rust spots on the top leaves and considering if my roots not getting enough oxygen is the problem which would be really bad..what are ur thoughts on how my buds look? I know my plant is sick rn and please if you know how to fix it please share ur knowledge. But what are ur thoughts on the buds themselves and there potential? thank you for your feed back
The leaves are looking even worse now and getting rust spots all over, really worried what I should do. The buds do look noticeably bigger though I do notice
