first Low cost/maintenance indoor

Hi, for quite some time i've been thinking about growing weed, and i thought about a low cost/maintenance setup where i would put the plant under my roof window surrounded by mylar and have to water once every week but i was wondering which technique should i use between hempy bucket and soil ? which one would be the best to hold water that long without drowning the root or letting them rot ?

thank you for your time.

First off i doubt youll get enough light in the setup you describe. Never heard of anyone pulling that off. You should either be growing outdoor or get some lights. If you intend to continue down this path you definitely dont want to go soil. If soil takes a week to dry out then youve done something wrong and will probably cause overwatering and root rot. Hempy seems like a better choice but idk what the max leavable timespan on hempy is. Dont see why it couldnt be setup for over a week though seeing the principle of it. Im sure you could find a thread on it in the hydro section and look around and ask questions. If you cant get some kinda lumen reader to test out whether it gets enough light through the day you may have to use a plant to test if it gets enough light after taking the time to setup everything. Still i dont suggest it. Maybe someone else will chime in on that but i doubt many have tried it. One thing i like most about indoor is the control over light cycles. In your setup youd have to make sure to setup some way to black it out 12 hours a day if you wanted to flower photoperiod plants whenever you choose. Theres always autos though
