First time....Autopot Autoflower Balcony Grow, NL, Biodiesel, White Dwarf

Hey budbud. Not looking too bad considering the problems yuve had.Nice to see the NL recover,it looks lyk its starting with a mag def,leaf tips yellowing and turning up.Epsom Salts usually sorts this,i put a small thumb and index finger sprinkle in half a litre of water.I`m not sure the WD def is cal/mag tho,has your ph been ok,coz if it gets above 5.95 Pottassium is not available to the plant,the WD def looks abit lyk the Pot. def. ive had in the past,yellowing down the serrations,going brown,leaves twisting.This can also be caused by too much Phosphorous which locks out Pottassium,if theres too much P in your feed for that specific plant it will lock out K.Try just using ph`d water for a week to see if your nutes balance themselves out. Hard to say when they will be finished budbud,they will probs finish later than sooner of seedbanks estimate,specially if you wait 4 amber triches.Ive only seen one amber triche in nearly 2 years,apart from them taking ages to go amber from opaque,a man needs his smoke,so they get chopped when opaque.They always seem to take longer to finish wen theyv been poorly.I had one that took 15 weeks to finish once after a def. can the epsom salts be used in the reservoir? they won't block up tubes etc? i did flush then all a few weeks ago, that's when the Lewes started to discolour, thought it was super dwficiency so first flushed with weak nutes, then almost a week later 2nd flush with half strength n now full strength in the res, using hesi coco nutes i imagine they have got their pk balance sorted so im not sure its that....dam leaves are supposed to yellow and fall off closer to harvest time could it just be the start of that? ? would that happen while feeding with mutes or does it only mainly occur when doing final flush?

not much to update, the res water is getting used up, i do enjoy using the autopots saves me carrying the pots around to water, drain and bring back lol...damn im lazy

i know that the ph creeps up slowly in reservoirs so i had originally ph'd at 5.6 or so, checked after robros comment n it had gone up to 6.3, reset it to 5.7 and will check again every now n then, although i think it will b fine til the res os empty now.....ill only b using 5l in the res for the rest of this feed, 10l takes waayyy too long to get used up, although if i had 3 plants that were the aize they were meant to b i dont think there would be an issue with that


both flowering plants are started to look like someone sprinkled a fuck load of sugar on them hahaha, my stash is out and i cant get anymore bud right now im sooo looki g forward to harvesting, u less they grow alot more soon i think i may get half an ounce combined IF THAT! still...that would last me a while....

im starting to think, with autos noteriety of taking longer than theyre meant to, i will probably only get 2 grows this summer so i will b doing the automazars after these. giggedy!

Hey budbud, When the leaves feed the buds it is a uniform discolouration,defo not that yet.It is likely something went wrong the week before you noticed it going chlorotic,so if your ph was out for a couple a days,say above 6,it locks out a lot of nutes.Theres a couple of charts nocking about on RIU that tellyou the ph top and bottom limits of most nutes. Handy to know. If it was the ph being off,it shudnt get much worse if ph been sorted.If it gets worse,cut back on yer nutes,yer probably too strong now,100% usually is.so id cut back on them anyway. Epsom salts dissolve best in warm water,about a teaspoon a gallon i think,but not sure on that dosage.Shoulnt block anything. Leaves will discolour and fall off any time during flowering,mainly at the end tho,sometimes not at all if more nitrogen added to bloom nutes. Where are your pics??? Looking forward to your nxt grow bud.

SO......just passed day 70 (today is 73 or 74 i think; from sprout) visually, apart from more calyx growth they look the same...nearly finished up the res water....from then i shall take robros advice and fill it with 5L of half strength nutes in the run up to the flush. by 90 days they SHOULD be done.....only time will tell

All three together, BD, WD, NL left to right....as you can see the NL is almost same height as the BD now, still no real calyx growth, just looks to be in a constant state of preflower haha......

you might be able to tell from some pics that i gave them a little trim down under, the bud growth i had pinched was growing back with a vengeance, couldnt stand the thought of the plant trying to grow little stuff down there so just chopped em off....fingers got a lil sticky!

White Dwarf:



the main cola is starting to look nice on her, much bigger than the BD, not quite as trichome covered though....doesnt smell as muhc as the BD either, BD puts out a real stink!

Norther Lights:



serious lost cause.......leaf edges showing advanced def, probably as robro said, from ph being over for a while....dont really care anymore lol my gf wants us to keep it after i harvest the others, i was gonna chop it and bin it....we will see what actually happens when the time comes haha.

Close up of White Dwarf leaves....showing further issues but it seems to be a more uniform discoloring...on the older leaves that had edges going yellow, the rest of the leaf started getting patchy, very light blotches of discoloration....i noticed it on some of the older fan leaves higher up too...these ones did not have edge discoloration, just sort of blotchy, small light patches all over....this is why i think its the yellowing of the leaves as run up to finishing, after all they are supposed to have around 20 days left on them....the BD just showing a few yellow patches here and there, not even 1% of the WD so its a bit confusing, but then growing multiple strains with the same feed amounts i guess usually is....



ive also just worked out that the reason some aquavalves may not be functioning properly is because im moving the pots around quite often to be in sunlight as much as poss, this shakes the water in the tray around and as the aquavalve works based on a mini vaccum the water creates as it rises, and releases as the water level drops, ive probably fucked with it by doing what i have been doing, i imagine they will work better once placed in ONE spot and arent moved around....

also i just bought some party cups hehe......along with the automazars, im gonna give a photo freebie i got a go probably in some soil, also on the balcony, plan is to LST it to run along the wall as a full sized plant may end up visible if upright...so its gonna be horizontal lol...may even build myself a screen of sorts to facilitate this... The Northern Lights one seems to be rated higher than the caramelo, im just wondering if anyone knows which are better for lst....the northern lights says its 100% indica which from what i understand tend to stay smaller anyway...good thing for me....but as the caramelo has 70% sativa, its a bit less bushy and maybe better for lsting? Also northern light one says it harvest earlier.....good thing i guess.......just wanna make sure i have enough bud to last me through the winter! i have a 15L or a bit more pot sitting empty on the balcony atm.....thought i may aswell try one of the freebies out. but now im tempted to put on of each in there, and lst them away from each other.....this wil affect yield but surely i would still get more than if i grew just one plant....? ahh wishful thinking perhaps....2 diff strains in the SAME pot, probably not a good idea plus its not exactly a massive pot to start with. help me choose one pllleease hahaha

OK bud,
Dont give up on the NL,it might just pick up now youve dropped the nute strength.Theyv probably all been overfed,but NL moreso as it is a bit behind development wise to start with.Separate feeding is best when things go wrong,coz you can weigh the plant up and work out what it needs,and feed accordingly.Hard to do with your system if one plant needed less.
I think you will do better in single pot grow,which ever ONE you choose.

oh dear...i was wrong with my dates last post....that was not even day 70, today however is day 78....theyre pretty close to done, the NL is pretty much dead haha.....i got some epsom salts, which must have settled to the bottom of my watering can as i watered the NL last and from the looks of things it got OVER salted and has some serious nute lock out going on.....been flushing them all, the other 2 as they are finishing up and the NL mainly to compensate for any nute build up, but really, hasnt started budding and i have started germing 3xautomazar, the NL will likely get chopped with the other 2 and binned....no worries, next one will be amazing...its all a learning curve and theres still plenty more to learn and to fuck up no doubt!

thats the baby Delicious northern light blue in the propagator....had just broken soil so put it in light for a bit, not for too long though as the weather here is awesome right now, way too hot for a seedling in the sun

covered the tiled floor of the balcony with mylar, and wrapped the res too, gonna also dunk in bottles of ice in the res when temps are to hot out there. you can also see a large clay pot in a plastic (overflow) box also with a mylar sheet over it.....this will be the home for the delicious northern light blue. it has about 2 L clay pebbles at bottom, ALMOST a whole 20L bag of biobizz light mix and then another litre of clay pebbles on top (for evaporation etc) i heard these clay ones can also heat up hence the mylar, another tip i read about is to use ice cubes, placed on the top of the medium, they melt with the heat and the cold water keeps temps down....

NL leaves are more fucked than last week, i think if i had a bad ph or over/under feeding the other 2 would have shown something too but they havent, hence my theory on the epsom salts at the bottom of watering can.cant think of anything else it could be and i read too much salt can lock out quite a few nutes.

been flushing with phd water only for the last few days, BioDiesel and White Dwarf fan leaves are starting to yellow a little, trichs are looking more milky and i cant be 100% cos 30x magnification is shit, if you have the option get a higher fuckin zoom cos i really struggle to tell clear vs milky, and think i have seen some amber but literally 1 or 2, and then i cant find them again cos the frickin plant gets moved about by the wind lol....but will wait another week or so perhaps....the pistils are mostly dark now, very few white pistils left, mainly on lower growth, smellin beautiful and looking almost there....i could have probably chopped by now and its hard to resist temptation but hopefully my patience will pay off....really wanna make sure this is some good shit! Patience during the dry and cure...now that will be a tester!

I have started a new thread following my new grow with 3 x Dutch Passion automazar and photo strain Delicious Northern Light Blue. but will continue to update here with regards to the harvest of these 3 (well 2) little buggers.

I think the NL is now a lost cause.If you had mixed the epsom salts with warm water it would have dissolved better
and you wudnt have dregs at the bottom of watering can.So there will be loadsa mgso4 in there locking out nutes.
If it dnt look like its gonna bud,just throw it out and put it out of its misery.Its suffered enough,haha.

haha yeah now guess what....the NL has started budding haha....in coco, outside in really hot weather im talking 40C plus at the moment.....i havent watered her for almost a week, the coco has dried out but shes still going for it.....but i really need the space for my automazars soon so am gonna chop her today, bring in the other 2 out of the heat, even indoors is 30C with all the windows open. doesnt usually get this hot here and it will pass in a week or so, according to the weather reports. so imma bring in the other 2 later on, and flush them.....and then in a couple o days flush them again....then a couple days after that flush and harvest. they have only been getting plain phd water for a while now, but for the last 2 waterings i added in a bit of canna bio boost. got it for my soil grow but thought id see if it could help fatten those nugs up. seems to have worked a lil bit. may start using earlier on the next grow. here are some pics then! (have trimmed a few large fan leaves that were yellowing) (still on the hunt for amber trichs, i swear i can see a few more than before but theyre hard to notice...gotta get the right angle and look for a speck of orange....like i said earlier 100x would be better, wayy better than 30x.....anyway today is day 86......they have to be pretty much done right!?!?!?!)

sprayed the entire balcony with neem mixture yesterday as ive noticed a few more bugs than usual...nothing in particular just trying to keep em away as much as poss....will do a respray every week or so. Im coming up to the 12 week mark, from sprout, they look ready to me but the trichs are saying otherwise.....half clear, half milky (approx) and a few amber here and there...how much longer could they go for before passing the peak harvest window?

cannot wait to dry out these bad boys! have my curing jars ready and waiting haha

thats cool Tek, NL has nute lock out from too much epsom salts, lockout started and wad noticeable within hours of watering with the salts. other two were fine as i watered them first, the salts had mostly sunk to the bottom of the watering can and the nl got a load of it......

just checked on the ladies, the WD has actual blobs of resin on some.buds.and some.smaler leaves, is this normal? had to see.what it was touched a blob and had a smell smells.fucking.potent, wrf do i do with blobs? let them.dry on the bud? isthis normal? quick google got me.nothing

ya its normal my outdoor sweet tooths glaze over on some phenos and after dry it looks like they where clear coated with paint it all smokes

cool it kinda looked like honey thought i might have some bug problem but when i smelt it thought i ws in ganja heaven! think ill just dry it with the buds as normal nd smoke it like that.....how am i supposed to put that sticky shiz ina spliff? only way i cwn think is with a toothpick and to,line along the rollibg paper as done with cannabos oil.....would that b a gd way to try the reain? is this a sign of harvest ready buds? pretty sure they are about there but the more signs the better

ah i see yes that was before epsom incident....tho i believe i have mainly fed these girls full strength so perhaps it was salt build up or ph problems causing nute lockout.....will the potency or quality of the smoke be affected by a p def just before harvest? am planning on cutting in a few days......more noticable amber trichs now

plants are now havested and hanging to dry....! had to bin the NL....went to transplant it into a new home and tore up the roots.....daym....this is why i want an easy system going on....no transplanting hehe. so the BD and WD got trimmed and chopped on the 10th....90 days from sprouting. interesting that while binning the coco from the harvested plants, i noticed that the root system on the NL was epic in comparison.....seems having res water available earlier made a big difference, and therefore affected the size as the NL was larger than the other 2 even though it was only just beginning to flower.....strain differences perhaps, but i have a feeling its the res.

was gonna trim the NLs dead leaves and try it in a diff pot to free up the autopot system for the automazars....figured that by size alone could have yielded more than the other 2 put together but alas....it was not meant to be. i dont have pics of the day she died.....i was a bit annoyed!

Maybe i trimmed too much of the bud leafage off.......buds are a bit fluffy too.....but chopped as soon as i could see a reasonable number of amber trichs, maybe 20-30 % on the top buds, 5% on lower buds. theyre now drying in a cupboard surrounded by cardboard boxes, although the humidity hasnt really gone down, still around the 70 mark after 5 days....may give it a few more days before jarring, stalks are bendy, but buds feel dryish.....

also up potted my photo for my new grow and automazar seedlings coming along nicely....for pics follow the link in my sig will try a sample in a few days - a week and give smoke reports here on the 2 strains that i managed to take all the way!

hey! been away for a bit but i have smoked that shit up (not all) the 2 together yielded me a shit pile of about 13 grams, half ounce or so, not too bad, i still have some left over of both White Dwarf (8.something grams) and the Biodiesel mass (4.something grams) shit yield yes......bud quality? not too bad

theyve been in jars ever since they were dried, although i probably over dried them as the buds werent that big really. interesting earthy smells from both, not too potent in smell or taste, or smoke for that matter. smell did come out more during curing definitely.....for me the White Dwarf is nicer though. both perhaps a little bit harsh halfway down the joint...Biodiesel has less smell and less flavour my gf likes them both as they arent too strong, and give a nice mellow relaxed high. all in all pretty pleased with it and really looking forward to the next harvest. please check out my current grow link is in my sig.

id give em both a 6 out of 10, not knocking down for strain quality but inexperienced grower. that said they were easy enough to grow, especially with the wealth of information there is online and the help and tips and advice available through resources such as rollitup.
