Another weekly update. She looks strong and healthy. I'm guessing I'm around week 6? Figuring atleast another 2 weeks maybe up to 4 more. We shall see. I put one pic from last week with the date. The rest are all from Sept 22nd. 20210912_085357~2.jpg20210923_130445~2.jpg20210923_130413.jpg20210923_130425.jpg20210923_130518.jpg20210923_130421.jpg

Looking good, hope your plants handled last nights rain. The forecast is good for the next week.
I was worried about the rain and the wind that came prior. Lost 2 small branches to the wind. Tied everything up and didn't get hurt by the rain. Was out shaking the plants at sun up.

I haven't had any issues with the wind or rain we have been getting up here. I have most of the bigger branches tied to tall stakes. I have pretty sandy soil so I really don't worry about too much water. She's looking extra healthy thinking it's just starting week 7ish. Figure I have another 3 weeks or so. Trying to figure out when to stop giving her nutes.

I was curious as to what you guys suggest on when to stop feeding her nutes. I was planning on waning off this week and being done by next weekend. I think that's about 8 weeks. I was told this plant would take 9 - 10 weeks to fully mature.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

So I think I was off with my timing. I'm pretty sure I'm done or very close to done. See pics, let me know what yall think.

Great looking crop. I was told you want to look at the trichomes on the calyxes not the sugar leaves to determine doneness. Mine all appear to be at different stages of flowering. I think the one furthest along looks like yours and probably still has another 2 to 3 weeks. The waiting is the hardest part for sure. And once harvested then the wait to dry then the wait to cure. I probably won't have any smoke till December lol

Weekly update. Week 8ish

So I was wrong again a week ago, she needs atleast another week maybe 2. And the weather looks like I'll have that time. Which is awesome!!!

I had to tie up one of the branches she got so heavy. See pics. Also, when I checked her this morning one of the leaves started changing colors. Which to me means we are in the end game.

This last week I gave her light feedings and she got her last one today.

Nice looking bud, guessing you're in the harvest window now.

Yup, started seeing nymphs last week on the canine, none on us humans yet but those bastards are so small they're easy to miss. Dangerous time, Lyme is endemic up here in Maine now. Everyone should check themselves thoroughly each and every evening before bed. I keep doxycycline on hand too just in case I miss one and it digs in. We usually get a big flush of ticks in October, hopefully later this month (after the harvest!) we'll get some good hard freezes which seems to knock them back.

Thank you, yes I can harvest and there is peace of mind in that. BUT it would be great to go a couple of more weeks. 6 or 7 days of no rain would be a gift from Mother Nature. My two plants are in the basement waiting for the rain to end tomorrow.

Keeping the Doxy on hand to use prophylacticlly is a very smart move. Like you I’m vigilant. Do you get a Lyme titer when you see the doc? I have them done twice a year.

Wishing everyone a good harvest!

After the rain Monday night, all day Tuesday and into Tuesday night, she made it through. For the most part. She's been through worse but without heavy buds. She definitely sagged all over. Anything that wasn't tied to a pole. Monday before it got too bad I put 3 more in.

When I checked her fully today, nothing bent to the ground or snapped. Found one bud with bud rot or mildew. Nothing else around it was affected. I cut the small branch off and checked everything around it thoroughly. Cleared out some fan leaves to help with air flow but it all looked good. Forgot to take a pic of the bud rot.

Well she's getting cut today. Found a bunch of bud mold. Cut down a couple big colas and prolly a couple ozs of smaller but good sized buds. Probably a week or so early but wtf and I to do. Don't want to lose the whole thing.

Damn that sucks. I'm probably a week or two away myself and trying to hold out but cool temps, the rain we just had, and now caterpillars are making it tough. Found one caterpillar and drenched everything in Monterey BT. Hopefully that takes care of the caterpillar. Hopefully the weather drys out. Sometimes it's better to cut early and have something then wait and have nothing. Really great looking plant, you should still get a nice haul from it.

Yeah I've noticed a few small caterpillars. I think im gonna wait til tomorrow when I have some help. Hopefully she doesn't lose anymore to mold. It's gonna be sunny for the rest of the day and tomorrow.

Good luck tomorrow!
Thanks. I looked again and im pretty sure the whole thing is fucked lol. I checked some of the top colas, cuz they looked iffy, and when I cracked them open I can see some black mold. I started cutting some today, but I had things to do so the rest waits for tomorrow.
