First Time, minimum yield question

Hey all

If I want to start flowering when my plant is only at 8 or 9 inches tall, how much yield can I expect? I'm on a time crunch (a bit) and I want to know if its worth it at all. If it is, how long do I need before I can harvest?

I'm a first timer giving this a shot. My setup consists of a huge fluorescent light placed inches away from the plant (just one plant). Its just started growing, only about a week now.

My reason for wanting a small plant is strictly the time aspect. I want to absolutely minimize the required time to grow a single small plant through to harvest.

What are your thoughts? I realize fluorescent isn't the best way to go, but I don't have the $$ for anything else.

Thanks

Ok here's the thing. when you start to flower your plant at such an early age your not really doing any good for her. You should always let your plant grow until the preflower stage. Now lots of people will argue about this on here...but this is the truth...your plant when thrown into flowering at an early age...will not start to flower until she is ready anyways, usually around when she is 2 months old. Lots of people start when the plant is too young, but what they don't realize is that, there waiting JUST as long no matter what. So letting your plant mature to preflower stage is only going to do you a world of good.

So i guess to answer your question...as far as yield...who knows...you can never tell how much you will get, it all depends on how good a grower...the strain of the plant, your space...soil...nutes...size of pot, all that jaz, but mostly it has to do woth the strain and the grower, i've had small plants that i thought i was going to get only 2oz from but ended up yielding me 5oz instead.

As for time for flowering...depending on the plant...you could be waiting up to a month for her to start flowering, and then you will be waiting a minimum of 7 weeks for flowering.

if time is your main concern and size of plant is not a problem you may want to look into lowryder 2 or one of the other auto flower strains. about 7-8 weeks and theyre done.

im not sure but i always use the img code to insert images. {img}link to picture{/img}, the correct code will be using [][] instead of {}{}. upload the pics at tinypic.com or some other file hosting service.

Too late now, but something like an Early Special would be good too.

"Early Special is our earliest flowerer. Its genetics contain Siberian Ruderalis. Some individuals start flowering with 24 hours of light! Early Special is a strong yielder with a low-moderate THC level. It has a smooth semi-fruity taste which can be enhanced under good growing and curing conditions. Early Special has vigorous flowering in good conditions and is disease resistant. This strain is very suitable for beginners."

When it gets down to it 6-8 weeks min from beans, and another 7 min for flow. Now with that said one plant under fluo that has been underdeveloped (lack of veg time) and lack of info/exper. is A big factor of many that can come up with your grow.

I have been using a 600w and have gotten 1/2oz up to 2.25oz. The same plant, same time, same nut's, but big difference in dry wg.

Good luck
