i want to add atleast another four of the cfls in the next week or so when i get some spare change... that'd put me at just over 400w of lighting... hopefully enough for a decent harvest with floros

Why spend all that money on those lights when you could have gotten a 400 watt hps setup and got 5 times the yield and use the same power????????

ha
cuz it had to be gotten piece-meal
for my next grow i'm getting one from htg
but actually... i've only spent about 50 bucks on lighting... so it wasn't quite as expensive...

not bad for floro but i agree you should have just got one hps light and it would have done twice as well but good for floros non the less

my next grow will be much more proffesional than this...
but hey, atleast now i got lighting for a seperate veg room so i can have continous flowering of plants... i think thats what i'll use atleast some of the floros for (or maybe just a mom or two, i dunno)

i'd like to take this moment to say; for your first grow and being under shop lights and a handful of VFL's; can i have some?

your nuggies look like they are getting dense. the colas look thick and fat. if i could have grown this well my first time, well....... i have no idea where i'd be right now. moon pot?

looks good my friend.

they look pretty good, but a 400W HID is waaaay more expensive than 400W of CFL's. 16 CFL's@ 26W each (416W actually) will cost around $44 (I paid $11 for a 4-pack) while the cheapest 400W HID on htgsupply is $120..so if ur short on cash then CFL's are the way to go.

but if you're comparing Lumens per Watt then yea HPS is the way to go.

your buds are looking really nice. i can see the heat stress you mentioned but other than that, i would love to have a plant of yours. hehehe

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

and lots of luck to you. :]

thanks bignate, since those pics, i've had to sacrifice a branch (every hair suddenly turned red, i think its from some damage i did to the branch earlier - if you look in the pictures close you'll find the branch that looks dead in the middle... =[ )

but other than that and some more nute burning, the buds are plumping up nicely, i'll prolly have some more pics on the weekend

i have two ladies... i vegged for about two months, which in retrospect was too long for what i wanted to do, but i topped later than i wanted too, and so that pushed back the flowering... ugh, but yeah, two months veg before threw them into 12/12... and after only like 5 days all 8 plants i had had sexed....

and steelersfan... i looked at your picks, if it were me, with the cfls... i would top those plants now, wait a week, then throw them into flower... that way they stay nice and bushy (like they are looking) and the cfls could get better coverage... just my opinion

thanks for the comments, and best of luck on your grow!!!

Congratulations dude,
we all learn as we grow! and it appears that you have learned a lot!
I am a CFL man, I hate dealing with the HEAT and high power bills. If you get enought light on those buds, and close enough, they will do just as good as they can do, and you'll have less heat. If you get that 400 hps lights, then you will have to deal with the heat. And for your budget, you did GREAT ! Congratulations, I am giving you some REP!
