Flower 24 on 12 off

This 24/12 schedule stuff has been around for years. If there was any validity to it don't you think that all the commercial indoor growers would be doing it?
My guy tried to convince me of this schedule. He was flowering and didn't herm at the time I saw the plants, but at 5 weeks he looked like 2. And that was the last I've head of that. 15yrs now.

I think that is what will occur. Flowering is driven by dark cycles, extending your lights on period is just going to be energy the plant can't use effectively and it sitting there waiting longer for the next "day" to pass. So instead of a "day" of flower being 24 actual hours it then becomes 36.

You can certainly push a bit in either direction from 12/12, plenty of stuff flowers with 8 to 10 hours of dark and plenty of other stuff works well under 13 or 14 hours of dark. Pushing that into extremes like this though will just piss off your plants.

Carry on though, no harm in trying it and seeing how it goes.

Remember when Goldblum said '...they forgot to ask if they should'.

Greed.

It's not fast enough, it's not big enough, it's not good enough. I'ma figure out how to get more faster because my mom told me a story about a lil choo choo train.

It does have a plan dumbass, it's in the word plant.

These guys are members of the newest religion sweeping adult swim. Don't believe the hype. You ain't smart. Just greedy.
On the left we have a natural carrot grown the way nature intended, and on the right we have a carrot grown by greedy humans.

Plants grow during the dark cycle, manufacture glucose and assimilate nutrients from the soil during the light cycle. Yes a plant has grown, and yes it did flower. Yours has missed out on alot.
Did you grow it utilizing the new light schedule from seed or only once you flipped to flower?

Day31 of flower I started 24/12 as an experiment to catch up a room that had been off for several days in early flower. Plants are doing great, only problem has been me fucking up timers so a little extra stress added on top. No herm or revegging at all, needed to dim lights but that works out better for me. I was going to switch back to 12/12 today and finish as usual, still have not decided. Going to need different timers so I can set and forget.

Your garden, your choice. I have never fucked with my light schedules. Timers have failed before and they didn't just die one day. It was a graduating inevitability, so multiple days of "not 12/12, hermied the whole grow. I caught it, fixed it, and 1-2 week later I saw bananas everywhere.

Finish yours but definitely consider some PK for the flower growth you have achieved. They're hungry dude!

They are all good, 12 hrs lights on no water in hydroton geeks them out a little but like I said they are going to be fire. Still have about 16 days left if I finish 24/12. Everyday the swell and frost is amazing, I think they look great but the smoke will be bomb as fuck. No PK boosters here same feed beginning to end 500-600 ppm. Best tasting weed you will ever smoke.

I'll take your word for it.

Decided to go back to 12/12 for the rest of this run. Without the proper timers it is too much of a pain in the ass to keep every timer switched up and correct everyday. Probably why no one does it, but I think I found what I need to run my set up 24/12 without changing timers everyday. Also put thought into the short day theory, going to be researching that as well and maybe see which is better by running both.

They have 7 day digital timers that will support the kind of experimentation you're doing.

You've taken a lot shit from some small minded people in here. Fuck 'em. Try new things; it's how you learn!

And take notes so you can remember the details in the future.

Real shit, phakes can't comprehend.

Think I'm going to use Infinity digital cycle timer for the lights because 7 day timer does not evenly do 24/12. If I used a 7 day I would need to run lights on 48 hours on weekend or run 12/12 on the weekend, which is no big deal but I want it to stay consistent. If I run 24on 12off on cycle timer I would use a photocell cycle timer for watering. Really want to see the different outcomes, if any, there are between 24/12, 12/12, 8/12.

With a digital timer, you could also do things like four times 30 hours on and 12 off, which would fit the 168 weekly hours.

Or 5 nights of 12 hours and day cycles of 21 and a fraction, etc.

That's all well and good but I think there's some interesting stuff to be learned about shorter day cycles and longer nights, as a function of energy savings vs yields.

As the price of cannabis continues to fall, people are going to become more and more interested in ways to reduce costs and the power bill is a biggie.
