Flush or not to flush, that is the question

Thanks for the link, I might just give them water then for the final 2 weeks if no improvement was found, that way I can save some nutes for the next runs.
Take from it what you will but I read that taste was better, terpenes were better, concentrates had better clarity from the non flushed buds.

the age old stoner myths of flushing the excess nutrients from the plant isn’t what happens. Flushed buds present more final iron Fe left over in cell tissue versus the non flushed.

I should have said no 'mayor improvement', yea maybe two weeks is too much, quite a few said it tasted more earthy and I don't want that for my buds.

My honest opinion to you is that if you have 2 of the same plants grown in the same conditions under the same feeding regime then run a trial.

like I said I don’t flush my plants prior to harvest but I do taper down my nutrient strength so that when I finish and harvest my plants were receiving approx 1/2 the max strength that I’ve ran.

Can somebody take a look at my picture and see if I'm ready to flush/harvest? As I'm following my first grows progress, my plant is in its 5th week of flower, I'm getting over 50 amber pistles but no yellow leaves but the trichs look cloudy.....I'm not sure....buds aren't that thick...I dont know what to do right now.

My plant is very sticky..here are my pics... I clipped a bud....

I have some kind of the same situation going on, my plant looks kinda ready from outside, I have but cloudy trichomes and no amber, but I think I'll wait a week until I see more amber trichomes.

If it is only the fifth flower week maybe you should wait too, I had a plant earlier this year that had amber pistles very early into flowering stage but I still let her go 7 or 8 weeks and she did put weight on, I think that's why pistles are an indicator of plant msturity, but not an indicator of harvest.

This bit doesn’t happen.

the article I posted actually shows elevated levels or Fe being Found in tissue samples due to flushing.

For example.
Tomatoes.
If you flush copious amounts of water through tomatoes you get tomatoe fruit split especially if you have a wet dry cycle that’s too extreme.

Rhizosphere balance is a fine art.

too much of a change in either direction can cause reverse osmosis to occur in the rootzone.

this is where the plants roots actually begin to exude water!!!

Regardless of if your hydro soil or soiless.
Were talking about weed not tomatos

But osmotic pressure in the rootzone is osmotic pressure regardless of species.

too much plain water can cause rhizosphere imbalance causing water to actually be excreted from the roots.

it’s just manifested in split fruit in tomatoes.
