From WA. to AZ.

Hey all you AZ. MedHeads, I am going to be moving to Northern Az. in the near future.
I like the fact that I can transfer my prescription "card". The last time I renewed my medical permit here in Wa. they gave me two copies of the 81/2 X 11 form and told me they quit making cards. Fine with me, the cost was $30.00 less. I have one original in the vehicle and the other outside my grow room.
I was just wondering if anyone has heard of someone moving plants and ready to smoke medicinal buds into Az.? If the "card" permit is transferable it aeems like they would. :-P :leaf:

I know that someone with a card from Cali can carry there medication with them in Arizona, they just can't use their card to purchase. Not sure if that is all states or not though

it's legal to have your plants with you in AZ if you're a patient and moving, but I believe crossing state lines is still a federal felony. The limit is 12 per patient. I'd proceed with caution.

That's kind of what I thought.
If there isn't any dispensories in AZ., how do I buy clones?
I have to bring my medicine with me anyway.
I may just have to take a chance. ?
I could go through MMJ state's if I go through Or., Ca., & N.M.
But like you said, crossing state lines is against fed. law.
Oh well, it will work itself out. I've been looking at real estate prices.
I noticed the closer to Phoenix, the more money they want.
Thanks all, Keepin' it Green ! :-)

No dispensaries right now and hopefully never.. Patient to patient trades and donations only.
Lots of good growers around here willing to trade clones.
houses are cheap here in Phoenix, stay away from Gilbert- The police Chief there is crazy.

Hey thanks for the advice Beaverhuntr, I'll keep away from Gilbert.
I thought the closer I got to Phoenix the more it would be.
I will start looking around Phoenix, I was thinking north because it isn't as hot there.
I'm ok with trading but I won't have anything to trade except medicine I bring with me.
I want to keep growing and maybe even be able to grow a few outdoor's in the summer.
I was able to grow a few here in N.W. Wa. this year and it is killer. Even better as it cured.

Donations are not legal, anyone who tells you they are is lying to you.
the ONLY 100% legal way to get money from your plants is to
#1 be a caregiver
#2 you can only sell to YOUR OWN patients
#3 you can only sell for the cost, it cost you to grow, no labor, no profit.

All other transfers from patient to patient or to caregivers can only be 100% FREE
no monetary value. Now that doesnt mean people wont exchange anyways, but its still not legal, just a FYI

Now to answer your question, you can get clones from other members here in AZ. There are many people who give them away for free, in order to stay legal.

The wording is - "as long as nothing of value is exchanged"

P2P the meds have to be free, or traded for other meds. You can't legally sell it, or trade for anything else of value. However, the grey area yet to be defined would seem to be like Al Sobols club. Pay $75 for entrance to a place where you can get free meds... which idea can be expanded upon, if you happen to be a creative thinker.

As far as caregivers go, you're not allowed to profit or charge for your labor, but you can exchange money for meds to cover actual costs incurred. There is no definition as to what actual costs are acceptable and what are not.

If you're not an idiot about it and think before acting, there is no reason you have to break the law.

Thans for the info RottenBoy, that's what I need. Correct info before I get down there.
I am a law abiding citizen but that doesn't mean I have never 'bent' the law before. :-) (when medicine was involved)
One thing I have always said, "jail was not intended for me, nor am I intended for jail".

Outdoor summer grows don't work here. You have to get your grow in much earlier or they will bake in the summer. Plus I'd suggest you go to the Az Dept of Heath Services medical marijuana site. It goes over the requirements for growing, like a 10 Ft fenced encloser and a steel door on a greenhouse, etc. Starting off with in the code is probably best way of not having problems and it answers most of your other questions too.
