Fungas Gnats - Desperate Acts

Here are the pictures and signs of the root aphids. I haven't gotten close enough to the roots to see anything moving.

But I know that it isn't a ph issue. Just checked and calibrated. And I know it isn't a nute issue because the other two plants looks fine.

I even covered the hydroton with tyvek paper.

These pictures were taken 1 day after adding Orca.
Currently in the veg rez =
Gh Series Gro, Micro, Bloom, Orca, and Zone.
Usually I add H2O2 and Superthrive but I thought I would give the micros a little fighting chance. My belief is that the salts from the nutes will kill the bennies. To me the roots already look whiter and healthier. But I am trying to believe that it is working so I am a bit biased.

Just add some ammonia chloride to your water and put a box with some cola and soap in at the side of your plant. Do that on a regular basis and they should die out really quick

Lol i ment to fix your container bro...
Gnats... Ive used dish washer soap to kill those all you need like like 2 drops of soap per gal.
Oh, haha. It has kind of turned into a "Hey will micro work and help in Aero" experiment. I'll have updated root pictures tomorrow.

If the Orca bennies don't help, everything will get blasted with death juice..."Gnatrol WDG"

Watching to see if this works......Kinda want to know if it's Gnats or Aphids.
Don't put Ammonia salts into your grow. Good chance of clogging the jets.

Ive used ammonium chloride (10%) solution at 1 tsp per litre for a year. Never caused any troubles at all. Any strains that likes it less than others?

It's Root Aphids with a combo of the fliers and fungus gnats. All that is left is the signs of Root Aphids. Well that's what all the signs point to. 3 of the clones are in remission and on the way to being healthy again. One is still an issue. Pics tomorrow. See if I can get zoomed in and find some of the little bastards.

If you truly have ROOT Aphids,,,,,Your in a world of hurt! No gnat shit will kill those.....

You need to root drench 3 different things at least 2 times each on a rotating schedule.

1 A Pyrethrin product mixed as a root drench (get a concentrated bottle and mix your own) Do this twice, once every 5 days.

2 Botaniguard WP (wettable powder) Mix as a soil drench. Do this twice, once every 5 days.

3 Acephate 72 WP Mix as a drench. This you can add straight to your res at 4.48 grams of powder per gallon.....run in res for 8 days. Maybe 10 to be sure eh?

Now then to use these as a drench,,,,,simply mix up enough to cover the net pot in a holding container and soak them for a min of 20 min and return to the growing unit.

CLEAN and SANITIZE ,,, EVERYTHING in the grow! These little fuckers eggs get everywhere and return quickly if you don't SANITIZE!!!!

Of note.
Some say that Imidacloprid works.....I tried it,,,,,not so well for me! I got a case of the Mites from hell afterward......I called Bayer Ag and spoke with a chemist on this......He stated that the use of Imid will make some plants give off the stress hormone and attract mites!!!!!! Skip this shit,,,,,it didn't work well for me and there are very conflicting reports on it's effectiveness for the RA's

Good Luck

Tonight is the water change. They will get a fresh batch of Orca. and will keep the nuterients at the same levels. I didn't use any H2O2 this time because I didn't want to hurt micros and bennies.

GH Series, Gro, Micro, Bloom, Superthrive, Zone, Orca, H2O2, Aloe Vera Spear (Chopped)

Does anyone think I should try this week with very mild nutes and Orca? or run just Orca? or Keep doing what I am doing for the sake of keeping things the same. I really want to find out if it is the orca that fixes them or protects them.

The pic didn't show up. Do you mean this one:IMG_4256.JPG

How do I get rid of those fuckers? How can I identify them?

And yes the orca does seem to be helping. Just the front right plant and back left plant that are still looking funky.

you need a microscope to see if you have them but that really looks like it does. i would be spraying it with atleast neem oil every week

Will spray with neem tonight. I also, have a bottle of Jack's which has
  • Contains Spinosad insecticide
And a bottle of Bayer
Natria Insect Disease and Mite Control
Contains Sulphur and Pyrethrin

I'll probably spray with the Bayer stuff since it has the pyrethrin and I know that works on mites.

So update time.

It doesn't appear that the Orca is a cure. I did a rez clean last night.

This is what I am doing now:
-20 Gals Tap Water
-1/2 cup of WDG Gnatcontrol
- 20 ml Zone

Also, I did another foliar spray of Pyrethine.

This is the spray:

Will have shots of the roots and girls later today. Also, the Natria seems to work for broad mites. All of the new growth looks healthy again.
