Genotype/Phenotype Question

Hello everyone,

So I popped 3 seeds of the same strain from the same pack and took clones from all 3. Upon taking clones from the 3 I lost track of the clones (rookie mistake) and there is one of the three I favored that is currently in flower. Is there a way to send to lab for an analysis to determine which clone is from the one I favor in flower with some leaf samples? Are those clones considered phenotypes since they are all from the same seed pack so they are all the same genotypes correct?

Take more cuts and get them into flower ASAP... label them this time!

Identical twins = same genotype

Say one twin goes to the gym and gets super ripped while the other just chills at the beach all day soaking in the sun.

If they each did that every single day for a year even though they have the same genetic make up they would appear very different. Not perfect example but they would be same geno different phenos lol

@MyBallzItch lol thanks....so since all are popped seed from same batch/pack I bought they are all the same geno different phenos

To everyone else: Shucks I took cuts before going into flower so I do not have moms and those are the ones that I didn't keep track of they rooted and up potted and now in week 8 of flower I see the one which is the king of forest and shouldve tracked that pheno for the next run to use/take cuts from :/....thats why I was hoping if some of these professional labs are able to identify if one of those clones is the exact pheno/geno of the one in flower with some leaf samples.

I would wait & see if any of phenos in flower are keeper quality. Maybe do a quick dry to smoke test then reveg that one & go from there. Or the safe bet is to just reclone everything & do a 2nd run. Both will take time but I think the reveg way will save you space while you could start new stuff.

I know I referenced Identical twins in my example but the seeds are actually just regular siblings. Sorry my example sucks

@higher self i thought of that reveg (never took a cut to reveg in week 8 tho, yikes? lol) to be sure its that specific one, because the only ones I have left to re clone are the ones I took cuts from which are currently in veg in there final pot and hopefully one is even for sure taken from the one i am reffering too lol ...got myself in a pickle that should have not taken place especially for such a journey when going from seed to harvest.

@MyBallzItch haha works tho....but yes regular siblings (different phenos) same genos ;)

By reveg I mean the whole plant roots intact not just a cut. I've done it a good few times its a legit option to save the keepers at harvest. I mislabeled some plants last round myself so it happens. The mislabeled plant is some quality stuff & ended up being my favorite out the lot surprising.

Yes, you can send samples from the three moms and the keeper to Phylos and they can genotype them and tell you which mom is a clone of the keeper. However, it probably costs more than you want to spend on it. $250 for four samples IIRC.

@Observe & Report thanks for the recommendation....I went to there website https://phylos.bio/products/genotype-test and it looks like they have stopped offering the test huh? Unless I am under the wrong section.
That's terrible. I guess the genotyping wasn't profitable, especially after they started selling seeds. Sucks for the community since Phylos is like the only one genotyping and making the results available. There is so much more work to be done in this area, maybe some cryptocurrency billionaire stoner will underwrite a nonprofit to do it.

Yah man was super excited then got bummed and local labs do not offer it either that I have found personally.
