No, I agree with GK. It's called relativity. It's called not being blinded in your eagerness to find the right end of that metaphorical telescope. It seems that it is MOSTLY either the very rich or very poor that understand this best. We that are in the middle find it difficult to comprehend that all around us the world is suffering.

look, science keeps learning

let's pretend Al Gore is completly benevolent in his attemps to clean up the earth. good. but the problem rest with industry and therefor heavily on government.

we (americans) will drive higher fuel efficient vehicles when the goddamn government makes them available and when the fucking numbsculls at the auto companies make them look good.

that's about all we can do. average citizens are not the major producers of CO2. industry is.

however, if any or no industrial changes are made, the earth will still change its terestial features do to natural forces. evolution occures biologically and cosmically. humans will have to adapt to survive regardless.

but, if industry cleans up, the environment improves and at least you've done a preimtive part as a involved person. at the very least, smog in the cities would decrease. i'm all for measures to limit polution. not for a political scare tactic, but because i love the earth. it grows so many wonderful plants. and i love the ocean. there's something about the ocean... i would like to see them both as clean as can be.

This month (April) is the hottest in my country (UK) since records began over 300 years ago. 3 degrees hotter in fact.

WTF?

We're starting to get fucking mosquitos in my country. New tropical ladybirds are killing off the traditional english reds... this has a knock-on effect as the predators of the old ladybirds do not have a taste for the new variety...

To think this is just the beginning is a scary thought, also take into account the speed with which it's happening. The human race is in for the ride of its very life.

wow. this is a good movie. 'the great global warming swindle'. so the sun is the big climate factor. make great sense, abso-fucken-lutely.

what i get from this is... even scientist still can't see the whole picture. but what i diapprove of the most is being led to believe by al gore that 'all' scientist from around the world are in agreement on CO2 warming. apparently not.

Whether Global warming is a natural occurence or man made, it is still a concern. All you have to do is look at the receding Ice fields to know that. The depletion of the rain forest can't bode well for mans future, excess carbon polution cannot be a wonderful thing for mother earth. If you really want to know what is going on, go to the Hopi reservation and consult with a medicine man. He will be tuned into the earth and can give you a heads up the scientists can only dream about. The Hopis have been documented in their reservation area for over 8,000 years. They have a feel for mother earth. I'll give you a clue, it's not good news!

Almost everyone is convinced that the earth is warming. Its measurable. What's at issue is what is causing it and what is Man's contribution to it.

Did anyone here watch Glenn Beck's program on Wednesday night, or was I the Lone Ranger?

The question is..

do 200,000,000 escalades in a glass house effect the air temperature?

i can help you with the answer if you would like.. :)

All I know is that I don't like the way things are looking. As somebody else pointed out the scientists just don't know...

This bickering back and forth has clouded us from seeing what is really happening. They (the scientists) need us to believe they have a handle on it (nomatter which side you are for). So long as you are on one side you feel secure in the knowledge that 'your' scientists have everything under control.

I'd love to read what George Orwell would make of the world today, of this subject in particular...

Fact is we shoul see that the reason we are arguing is because nobody really knows whats happening. For both sides to admit this would be catastrophic, mass panic even a distinct possibility.

They have to pretend to be in control, even when it comes to the weather lol.

Oh, we that know so much... yeah right.

But, is the fact that the planet is warming in question, I think not! Then it comes down to: Do you want to give up some of your comfort to slow down the warming, or is it full steam ahead, damn the torpedos?
