Grinder or no grinder?

the smell comes out more with a nice grinder... with really nice herb too...

busts open the nuggets to expose those sweet sweet smelly essential oils..

like i smell nuggets and they smell pretty good, then i grind it, and open...

& it's like Folgers in your cup man.. for real.

except with weed.

no question about it, i'd go with a high quality herb grinder any day over not having one. breaking up herbs with my fingers or scissors sucks, gets your fingers sticky and takes too much time. grinders are awesome, but, don't get a cheap one and stay away from stupid gimmicks. get something straight forward and simple that works and stick with a reputable brand like sharpstone, space case, or chromium crusher. i've been using the same grinder for a long time now and love it. i especially love dipping into the nice stash of kief that it generates!

I have never owned a grinder. I like cleaning and prepping my weed manualy.

Then again we seldomly get sticky stuff here, unless its from some import beans.
But the local swazi and durban poison is not so sticky.

Dude grinders suck, have any of you even tried chopping your own weed using a pair of scissors? A grinder is only for those who can't be bothered or are already too stoned to cut up some more. Or those with a vape (guilty), since it doesn't have to be so fine.

I grind because it's the most efficient way to increase the surface area that meets my flame in the time period I'd like to smoke in. I apologize if people think it's improper to not want to sit with scissors and chop my bud into a suitable size for my particular bowl, but be aware I'm only apologizing that you think it's improper, I could GAFL what you think of my methods.

I use scissors...I like the grinder because of the little kief catcher on the bottom, but I tear those things up for some reason. The sticky icky likes the scissors better.

it keeps your fingers from getting too sticky and it does a better job at breaking up the buds than my fingers will ever do

10" razor blade ^^

Sometimes I use my cheapy plastic one or my poker chip one. It really depends on the bud itself- I went into more detail on another two grinder threads. I've never been that much of a grinder person as I careful with my hands. Again, it depends on the bud and how it seems to want to be broken up.

But I never understood scissors- I see more people end up with squished weed, sticky fingers and invalidated scissors. If it's crumbly and dry, maybe, but the action of the blades can flick bits of weed here there and everywhere.
