Here are a few of my bigger girls. Just going into flower. I am cleaning out insides and then building trellises. Someone has been hiking too much and slacking on the garden. I do have a few Clearwater's and Tikiman collaboration Project X going along with a Strayfox's Molly Rose 20210808_163826.jpg
Clearwater's Grape Preserves around 11ft. Grape preseves is Grape pie x runtz
20210808_163935.jpg
Clearwater's Jelly delicious around 10.5ft. Jelly delicious is White hot guava #35 (jelly donut cut) x runtz.
20210808_163505.jpg
Sin City's Deep pockets 11ft +. Deep pockets is blue power x MAC
20210808_163300.jpg
Shoreline's Hard Candy ( candy punch x Bubba) started later but a solid 6ft. By the way this plant has me super stoked. Spacing and structure is very nice and smells sweet.

Bloom's Space guavaz (space runtz x guavaz) around 11ft plus.

This is one of the best I have ever seen, really impressive.

Do you have to do anything to manage the middle of those giant plants?
Thanks I appreciate it. I have a few secrets to getting them big, but climate is #1. I buy turkey compost every year for the nitrogen.. it’s poop and bedding from an organic turkey farm mixed with well decomposed hardwood orchard compost.. it’s incredible. Black and no odor is very long lasting.

as far as defoliating

I “pistol whip” the plants when they are first planted. It’s a technique Tom hill taught .. you defoliate the internodal new growth NOT the fan leaves .. you get explosive growth out and up .. kinda the opposite of how I was taught to thin many moons ago growing indoor. I can draw a diagram if you would like to show if my explanation is not conveying it just lm

I then clean up the underside in early June ..
I don’t do anything to manage the middle of the plants .. no picking leaves nothing.

early august I thin the undercarriage before bloom to be able to water effectively..

my climate is dry so no worries about PM until late September..

I use circadian sunrise and all phase.. killer product I usually have about less than 1% product Loss to PM or
Mold .

I knew I guy who grew big plants who would cut H20 in late July for 3-4 days.. said it would cause the inner leaves to yellow and die ans narueally defoliate. I have not personally tried this yet so can’t reccomend , just anecdotes from the hills.
Ill post pics in a few weeks once they finish stretching and get some popcorn buds on them

Thank you, that is a really interesting set of insights. Removing the growth tips but not the fans makes sense, the plant grows where it can and the fans power it along.

Keep up the great work!

Some are finally 7’ tall and several over 6’ tall. I also just thew my Beleaf Platinum Punch #13 mother and I can’t say other strains name mother, of another elite Beleaf phono . So I’ll have Beleaf White Tuffle, Beleaf PP#13, Pancakes Cookies Breeders cut and Beleaf elite I can’t say name of, added to greenhouse. They’ll be in 10g, water only, soil mix. The trichomes will be epic!!

All the big girls are phenos of Snowcaine I’ve hunted and same with one pheno of WWXBB I hunted.

A few finally 8’ tall. Stretching like crazy! Majority are Snowcaine phenos I’ve hunted. The ones in 10g pots are Beleaf’s White Truffle, Beleaf Platinum Punch #13, very special sugarcane pheno and Pancakes, Cookies breeder’s cut! Going to be some crazy, next level fire with those 4 elites!! That’s $33,000 worth of genetics, just in those 4 strains, if paying asking prices for clones.7F466F5F-DC6B-4796-85DE-AE20D36B5338.jpegE6AB7429-93E0-448E-976D-2FC44FFA34F6.jpeg1F9B22B1-74B9-4C98-97AF-B45C93C3BC1D.jpegE120D088-4E26-4DFD-8FC4-F98193D49E5E.jpeg0F49F938-352C-4663-A8AA-13E1EFE2AA2B.jpeg14162DCB-3E56-4C4F-AB27-8E3752BE9286.jpeg5555B8ED-11CE-458F-B8D5-931898825814.jpeg13F37771-4B82-4934-BD46-AA06171C2DEE.jpegD1DF6561-D3F0-480B-AC76-1F0AEA69F68E.jpeg1527534B-C524-4BCD-BC84-AE762E61AC0F.jpeg

First picture is Platinum Punch #13. Second picture is White Truffle. Third picture is the special pheno of Sugarcane I can’t disclose which one, and 4th picture is the Pancakes, cookies, breeders cut! These are my elites I paid big money for. I just threw them outside to see what they’ll do. These are my indoor strains! The special sugarcane and Platinum Punch #13 just got put outside a few weeks ago. They look so small cause they’ve both had a ton of cuts taken off of them. 55152FC9-1482-45E2-9FC9-BEF0726CCE7E.jpeg9BE3C5DB-BA2E-4054-ABF2-BD29B0F1361F.jpegE23A4C70-91EA-4474-B1B0-2E80486999BF.jpeg272CC6DF-FB2C-43B6-89AB-47DF3061CD0A.jpeg

Is it just me, or do breeders stick their heads a little too far up their own asses?
My special cut has nothing to do with the breeder, although it’s being used to breed with several strains now. I made a promise not to say which pheno it is, from person I got it from. Probably should’ve just said it’s sugarcane and left it at that.

Oh 100% they do rofl , not all of them of course but a lot do, most that do are also usually the shittiest ones lol. Like usually black belts aren’t that cocky, but the random dude at the bar with a bench press at home is haha

What is the tent above for, is it to limit how much light it gets, or maybe reduce direct rainfall? I'm indoor...obviously lol.
It’s actually a greenhouse. I just haven’t put the sides and front on yet. Weather has been too nice and haven’t need to. From my research, it makes no difference if plastic perfectly clear or not, as long as it’s letting the light in. There’s 2 greenhouses, end to end, the one you’re talking about and a homemade one. I bought some greenhouse plastic to make them one big greenhouse. Then I can use one large dehu.

My bigger plants always take a lot more time to finish, Starting to see some trichomes and some of the more potent strains got some nose to them. Had a little clogging with the xylem this season. Nothing major but common with larger plants especially if you supercrop at all or any branches get broken. Any sign of lower branches stressing the plant compartmentalizes the arm and drops it.
Hemp aphids are on selected plants but they are common And you just have to wash them off.

Minimal mites this season, few broads and hemp russets but nothing that was even concerning.

Will start spraying spinosad for caterpillars and worms in a few days.

Some Lemon crosses that smell like lemon pinesol

Banana crosses most smell like pure OG with a hint of artificial banana

blue dream crosses that smell great
vanilla and cheese notes in there.
People hate on BD. But well done organic dream is usually decent.

Some midzotics strains Should be very gassy with some ranging towards sweeter

Think trop cookies smells some ranging towards burnt rubber /chem smells. All these are hype strains but come from good breeders.

Overall I really like the Lemon terpenes. Breeders have come a long way from the greasy/soapy feel the earlier lemon strains based of lemon G had.

I’m guessing a few strains will hit 30% THC, more to do with good breeders than my growing but % doesn't tell the whole story. Some of my fav strains hit 12-15% but have a great stone.

Days are cooling off a little now, well it’s currently a heat wave, but with some cooler nights the purples and lavenders will start to come through on the midzotics. Oh yeah a few have pink pistils .. always cool looking recessive gene.

Hope y’all are doing good post some pics of some hogs

Thanks for the update. Post some pics when you get a minute. Glad things are going well and the fires are steering clear of you.

Totally agree about the limonene terps--I grew a couple Chinook Haze and a Copper Chem last year and the fragrance is just out of this world (especially starting about this time last year, but even now cured in jars they smell divine).

Also agree about the THC percentage. Most breeders seem to assume that more is better but I'm not so sure of that--there's a lot more to great weed than just high THC. I suppose you could use the analogy of alcohol--if drinking was just about obtaining the maximum possible strength then we'd all be guzzling Everclear (yuck!). Give me a nice hoppy IPA or a delicate Pinot Noir any day.

Nights are starting to dip into the 50s here in Maine now, less humidity, although the days are still pretty warm. Love that golden softness that autumn sunlight has too.

Some of mine are flowering nicely while a few seem to be stragglers--variation even among identical strains interestingly. The whole thing of flowering is a bit of a mystery to me, I guess that's part of the magic.

Quick pics from yesterday:

Chinook Haze starting to fade a little down below:

Trichomes just became noticeable this week--well ahead of where my CH's were last year at this time:

Little bit of stack happening in Miss Chinook--should start filling in quickly in the next couple weeks:

Cherry Wine drinking up the warm afternoon sun. This one topped out at 7 feet:

Cherry Wine flowers coming along. Can't wait for that heavy fragrance to waft into the house (any week now--last year odor peaked at the end of September):
