GSC Airy Buds at End of Week 8

The breeder (Nirvana) says 7-9 weeks for their Girl Scout Cookies. At end of week 8, the buds are not dense, the pistils are all white, and have not curled in at all. This plant has been mostly deficiency free and is being grown organically. I am feeding some calcium & magnesium and potassium (Dr. Earth Flower Girl). My other plant growing in the same room is Critical (Nirvana) and it seems to be doing okay and about ready to harvest.

I'm not sure if I have a problem or if this particular plant is going to take a week or two past the breeder's estimate.

Your plant looks great.
Those breeder finishing times are just guesstimates. Nirvana site says Flowering Short, 7 to 9 weeks?
Nowhere near ready though, looks more like 5 - 6 weeks into flowering
You shoulda posted a pic of the Critical too, to compare.

Yes, it does look like I'm at 5-6 weeks. I've grown GSC before and have never seen GSC or any other Indica maturing so far behind schedule.

I was curious if anyone has experienced this before and if so, did the buds eventually "dense up" way later than normal or did they just stay loose and airy (pistils white and standing straight up).

Way too early to start worrying............you have a month to go, or more by the looks of it. You can't ever rely on a breeders flowering period, as most just lie to help sell seeds.

Get some real gsc from csi humboldt
Why would Humboldt have better genetics than Nirvana; isn't Nirvana an experienced breeder? I know growers tend to think one breeder is better than another but I do not understand why. Could someone explain?
