Kitchen window. I think he also gets like 8 tags a year. That is in addition to the ones he can get for him and his family. Deer are a nuisance northern wisconsin. It is why they reintroduced wolves.

And the only way i would hunt is if I didnt have to go into the woods to do it. I dont like venison or any wild game enough to work for it.

8 tags a year? Holy shit. 1 buck and 7 doe? That's a lot of deer jerky.

When I go Pheasant hunting it doesn't usually take more than 30 minutes to limit out, just drive til you see one in the ditch, get out and blast it. Cleaning them only takes about 20 seconds so they are good to hunt and eat. The meat is exceptionally lean though so you need to add something to give it a bit of flavor and juice.

Turkey Hunting is more fun, call them in and put a hen decoy out and watch the fireworks when several toms come runnin.

Dressed the whole bird. use scissors. Standing to in a bag about a minute a bird
and in regards to my uncles deer tag
he can take them deer anytime of the year and I dont think they have to be doe or buck. They jsut have to be on his property and within range

If you aren't familiar with guns, I suggest you get an over/under. They are usually .22 on top, and that will give you a lot of practice. Ive never used a shotgun to hunt anything but birds, I have shot deer with a .22 out of the yard when I was a teenager. How many guns do you have, what type, and how good are you with guns? That makes a big difference on the type of gun. Really, a single shot 12 gauge would be fine for hunting and can be 50-75 used.

Im pretty familiar with guns and have used plenty. just not as familiar with shotguns/ hunting with shotguns. Ive fired pump action before but im trying get an idea what people prefer and like for hunting as far as over unders and semi-automatic goes... Ive never used over under, but I know alot like them for hunting same with semi automatics.. Therefore my question of what do people prefer for bird hunting with over under? or semi automatics?

I dont need something that would be good for self defense 8 plus round shotguns... I'm strictly talking about for hunting. Otherwise ive dealt with everything from handguns,rifles, assualt rifles, to full autos as well as bigger caliber, explosive rounds. So i have pretty good knowledge and use with different guns maybe not as extensive as doing my own reloads but as far as use goes yes.. Just trying get a better idea for good hunting shotgun

If you are hunting birds, the semi auto might make sense. I normally only get one shot at things, but I am in a swamp. What are you trying to hunt? Honestly, I could never tell a huge difference in shotguns. Some feel nicer, lighter, heavier, plastic, cheap, ect. As long as the shotgun goes boom you should probably go with whatever fits you comfortably. Myself, I have a half dozen shotguns now. A couple of them are black powder. If I was going to hunt, Id take one of them just because it would be hard core. You can get a 870 clone for $150 at Wal-Mart.(or something like that) It is well made, but Chinese. The H&R Pardner. I like it and can't argue with the price. My next shotgun is going to be a trench gun with bayonet, but like I said, I don't hunt with a shotgun.

Precisely why I recommend an over/under shotgun. You will rarely get more than two shots at any small game, especially birds. O/U are simpler with fewer moving parts, less chance of mechanical failure.
Find a decent used Browning or Beretta and try it out, take an auto loader with you for comparison.

My dad has a beautiful Beretta over/under trap special that he hunted with. NICE shotgun.

Thanks for info guys, I was looking at getting a under over but ive read quite few articles lately that stated there not as accurate as they used to/ or everyone makes them out to be... And while a under over holds two rounds a semi-auto can hold 3+1 making it more popular as well as fact you dont have to break it in half to reload like you would the o/u Im def. gonna wait till the next gun show hit that up since you can always find grat deals there. Last time i went i picked up a 30.06, winchestor made in 70's or 80's maybe before that cant remember off top my head right now.. mint condition never been fired owner basically stored it away in box after they bought it never fired it.. they were more a gun collector. got it at great price.

Alot of o/u ive seen can be quite spendy and im not nec. into the chinese made cheap ones... so guess have to wait and see at next gun show

You are better off going to pawn shops and Wal-Mart than a gunshow. The prices are usually higher than local dealers. You should try to find a guntrader website in your area. Gun shows are really only good for things that cost a LOT to ship or are so hard to find that only specialty shops have them. Ammo boxes, gas masks, ammo, WW1/WW2 parts in piles of garbage on some peoples tables. I occasionally buy parts for my guns at the shows, but I don't think I've ever bought a whole gun at one, I have sold a couple though. Sometimes I will find someone who is a couple years behind in prices selling parts kits or something and I will jump on that. If you like to haggle, you can find some OK prices at the gun show, but rarely good ones. I have an FFL though, so I might be spoiled on pricing.
