Hacked

Some scumbag hacked my gmail account and sent emails to all my contacts, online pharmacy bullshit, all my professors. Thankfully google is ontop of their spam/hacks and terminated all emails sent, so I don't think they actually got sent, but it pisses me off that some scumbag from India got into my information (checked my recent activity and an ip from India popped up). I reported the ip, along with the site promoted as well as some other header information. Now I have a 23 digit login and secondary security. Makes me question my online banking stuff. Anyone have any similar scenarios or Id theft?

That happened to a few people I know.

Yep! My ID has been stolen, but not in cyberspace.
Back when I used windows, I had a Bot inserted on me and woke up to a never ending stream of e-mails being sent from my comp. Thank god my AV alerted and stopped them. It only let me send one every 3 minutes, and these were being sent at the rate of thousands, to people everywhere. I had to do a hard reset and wipe the drive. I switched to Linux and haven't had that prob again, tho in your case I doubt that'd help.

Same folks got my hotmail account. It was great having to explain to my 11 yr old daughter why I was sending her emails for online pharmacies & "what is viagra?"
